Full Job Description
Summary: The HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic advisor aligning HR initiatives with business objectives across multiple locations, while tactically supporting administrative functions in a growing organization. This role partners with HR colleagues, managers, and departments to implement effective strategies in employee relations, performance management, compliance, and policy interpretation. The HRBP translates business needs into HR solutions, functioning as both a management consultant and employee resource while supporting change initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Partnership

  • Partner with managers to provide HR consulting and coaching on employee relations, policy interpretation, regulatory compliance, and performance management processes.
  • Provide best practice recommendations for conflict resolution, investigations, and progressive corrective actions.
  • Support organizational change initiatives including affiliations with new legal entities.


Data & Analytics

  • Analyze HR metrics to identify trends, measure program effectiveness, and inform decision-making.
  • Support HR programs that address business challenges and advance key objectives.
  • Utilize people analytics to contribute to workforce planning efforts.


Compliance & Operational Support

  • Support compliance activities including EEO-1 reporting and records maintenance.
  • Support administrative processes such as workers' compensation and unemployment claims.
  • Interpret HR policies and procedures for employees and managers.
  • Facilitate employee lifecycle processes including exit interviews and trend reporting.
  • Contribute to change management initiatives across the organization.


Relationship Management & Collaboration

  • Build productive relationships with leadership, managers, and HR colleagues.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Payroll, Benefits, Onboarding, Offboarding, Professional Development (training), and other departments to address operational needs, resolve workplace issues, and to achieve HR or shared firm objectives.
  • Other duties, as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong partnership-building skills with managers, senior leaders, and HR colleagues.
  • Excellent communication skills, including listening, writing, and presenting.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity in the workplace.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and understanding of organizational objectives.


Qualifying Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; or, a minimum of 5+ years of progressive HR experience with 2-5 years specifically in an HR Business Partner, HR Consultant, or similar strategic role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with employment law compliance in multi-jurisdictional environments, particularly in complex regulatory states including California and New York.
  • Proficiency with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), preferably UKG Pro/UltiPro.
  • Professional certification through SHRM or HRCI preferred.


Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Physical Requirements: Requires a 40+ hour work week, including after-hours and weekends as needed. Involves prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. Tasks require strong visual abilities and effective oral communication skills. Occasional travel to firm offices as necessary.
  • Work Environment: Typical office environment, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
