Role Description

We are seeking an HR Application Engineer to own and evolve our Hire-to-Retire (H2R) technology landscape. This role serves as the primary technology partner to Human Resources, Payroll, Talent Management, and Business Operations teams, ensuring scalable, efficient, and employee-centric solutions across the entire employee lifecycle. The ideal candidate combines deep HR business process expertise with strong application engineering skills to support, optimize, and continuously improve HR technology platforms. This individual will drive business process transformation, system enhancements, integrations, operational excellence, and strategic roadmap initiatives while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and business objectives.

In this role, you'll:
  • Platform & Lifecycle Ownership: Serve as the technology owner for the end-to-end Hire-to-Retire ecosystem, configuring and maintaining HR applications to support the evolving employee lifecycle.
  • Strategy & Roadmap: Partner with HR leadership to align the HR technology roadmap with organizational priorities, security standards, and enterprise architecture.
  • Process Optimization: Drive the standardization, automation, and redesign of HR processes to improve efficiency, compliance, and user experience.
  • Data & Integrations: Own integrations and secure data flows between HR systems, Payroll, Finance, and Identity Management while maintaining strict data governance and reporting capabilities.
  • System Lifecycle & Support: Lead system testing, deployments, and change management for platform updates, while providing L2/L3 technical support and managing vendor SLAs.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary technical bridge between HR, IT, Payroll, Security, and external vendors to facilitate governance and prioritize initiatives.


At a minimum, we would like you to have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience supporting workday HR platforms.
  • Experience with Hire-to-Retire business processes and HR operations.
  • Experience customizing, configuring and supporting Workday HCM or similar enterprise HR platforms.
  • Experience with HR integrations, data management, and system administration.


It's preferred that you have:
  • Experience integrating Workday with enterprise applications such as SAP, Coupa Expense. ADP Payroll, Identity Management, and other HR-related systems.
  • Experience supporting HR, Payroll, and Finance business processes, with working knowledge of SAP Finance (FI), General Ledger, Cost Center Accounting, and payroll accounting integrations.
  • Ability to partner effectively with both technical and business teams.


The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $219,200 - $241,100 + bonus + cash award + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
