Axiom Hotel in San Francisco is looking for skilled, detail oriented and hardworking Maintenance Manager to join our team!

Pay Range - $85,000 - $95,000 annually

What You'll Do:

  • To research and interview vendors to obtain the best price and availability of maintenance supplies.
  • To review and prioritize all daily work orders.
  • To oversee and administer the property preventive maintenance programs to ensure consistent, reliable operation of systems and to minimize downtime and loss.
  • To participate in regular property-wide inspections.
  • To initiate or review all Maintenance Department capital expenditure requests prior to approval of their department manager.
  • To schedule, coordinate, and inspect all rooms-related Preventative Maintenance, rooms refurbishment, and public area projects on a regular basis.
  • To act as hotel liaison with outside contractors and agencies when involved in major rehabilitation projects and facility additions.
  • To follow all specified procedures to correctly handle cash.
  • To continually monitor service and quality standards as measured by guest correspondence, staff feedback and any other mystery shopper programs.
  • To monitor efficiency, consumptions, and hotel allocation of natural gas, electricity, and other fuel sources.
  • Lead the team to maintain high levels of productivity and morale.
  • Purchase all supplies and plans needed for the department.
  • Train staff on all SOPs and ensure there is understanding and compliance.
  • Complete payroll and timekeeping logs to specifications.
  • Respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner working to resolve conflicts and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Model the highest work and safety standards for the staff.
  • Assist in proper documentation of Personnel/Payroll transactions, as directed, for processing in the Human Resources office.
  • Ensure that all hazardous substances used in the Maintenance department are handled, stored and labeled according to state and federal regulations.
  • Focus on safety and the following of safe work practices by yourself and those under your direction. Including compliance with company safety standards, and state and local regulations that pertain to your department.
  • Assist the Director of Engineering to conduct regular departmental operations meetings, including monthly safety meetings.
  • To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
  • To promote and comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.
  • To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.


Where You've Been:

  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required.
  • Must have a minimum three years post high school education, preferably in related area of studies, or equivalent work experience.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, diagrams, and blue prints of all trades.
  • Experienced with basic hand tools and power tools used to perform assigned duties.
  • Must have a valid driver's license for the state.
  • Familiar with OSHA, SB198, local Department of Health regulations, and relevant current laws governing handling of hazardous substances.
  • Trained in air conditioning and refrigeration, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems and equipment that would normally be found in a hotel property.
  • Prefer at least two years' experience at a resort or hotel.

  • Strength, flexibility, and good reflexes needed to operate staging and mechanized material moving devices, and to operate large machinery.
  • Regularly required to handle and move objects weighing up to 80 lbs. over short distances.
  • Must be flexible to work long, sometimes irregular hours
