OverviewAnsible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting multiple Hospitalists to support the Fargo VA Health Care System located at 2101 Elm Street N, Fargo, ND 58102. Schedule typically includes either 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. If you accept employment with Ansible, you must also acknowledge that any assigned schedule is subject to change at the direction of either Ansible or its customers. Competitive full-time pay packages are available to qualified candidates.
Responsibilities- Admit and coordinate care for hospitalized medical patients.
- Perform history and physical examinations upon admission.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat hospitalized patients.
- Order and interpret:
- Laboratory tests
- Diagnostic imaging
- Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
- Prescribe and manage medications.
- Coordinate patient placement within the hospital.
- Conduct end-of-life discussions and advance care planning.
- Consult with specialty and subspecialty providers.
- Manage discharge planning and ensure appropriate follow-up care.
- Coordinate care with primary care providers.
- Provide perioperative medical management.
- Assess and stabilize patients with emergent conditions.
- Participate in rapid response teams and code team activations
- Abscess incision and drainage
- Thoracentesis
- Paracentesis
- Lumbar puncture
- Nasogastric tube insertion/reinsertion
- Transurethral catheter placement
- Removal of lines and tubes
- Joint aspiration/injection (excluding ankle and hip)
- Tennis elbow injections
- Fecal occult blood testing
- All ACLS procedures
- Review all admissions recommended by NPs and PAs.
- Participate in person-to-person handoffs for inpatient admissions.
- Provide consultation and treatment recommendations to referring providers.
- Initiate social work referrals for homeless veterans and patients without primary care providers.
- Provide patient discharge education and follow-up instructions.
- Ensure communication of test results in accordance with VA policy
Qualifications- MD or DO degree.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
- Active, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
- Active AHA BLS and ACLS
- Must be able to pass a Federal background investigation.
All candidates must be able to:- Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
