Local Team Collaboration:
  • We are seeking a Medical Director to join our close-knit, well-established team of 6 physicians, 1 advanced practice provider (APP), and the invaluable support of a clinical performance nurse at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.
  • Our team meets monthly to review performance metrics, address group matters, and collaborate on solutions to improve patient care.
  • Work alongside a dedicated, high-performing team supported by a clinical performance nurse, with access to resources that foster individual and team success.

Qualifications:
  • Board certification or board eligibility in the relevant specialty.
  • Minimum of one year in hospital medicine as a leader in an associate medical director or director-level role.

Scheduling:
  • Our standard rotation is 7-days on and 7-days off, spanning Monday through Sunday.
  • We value work-life balance, with the option for a flexible schedule and a commitment to covering for one another when a team member is on leave.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality care through a daily rounding model involving three providers, with an average patient census of 12-15 per provider. On-call periods include admissions ranging from zero to a maximum of four to five patients.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes cardiology, pulmonology, nephrology, general surgery, urology, GI, endocrinology, orthopedics, and wound care specialists. Collaborate with a dedicated nocturnist for 7p-7a coverage and work alongside advanced practice providers (APPs) from Bethel University to contribute to teaching and expanding educational services.
  • Engage in challenging cases within an open ICU setting, where our diverse services-such as interventional cardiology, pulmonology, and nephrology-support comprehensive patient care.
