Full Job Description
As Northern Illinois Hospice's Clinical Educator, you'll lead engaging education programs, coach clinicians in the field and office, and support continuous learning across our multidisciplinary hospice team. One day you may be onboarding new team members, the next facilitating clinical skills training, supporting accreditation readiness, or helping nurses achieve excellence in hospice and palliative care. Every day, your expertise as a Clinical Educator directly impacts quality, safety, and patient outcomes.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and deliver innovative clinical education and training programs.
  • Coach and mentor staff in hospice best practices.
  • Support regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, and patient safety initiatives.
  • Promote professional development and certification in hospice and palliative care.
  • Facilitate learning opportunities for the entire hospice interdisciplinary team.
  • Assist with course development and educational content creation.
  • Partner with leadership to maintain 5-star quality standards.

Schedule & Pay
  • Full-time position; Monday - Friday; field and office based training throughout our service area; occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support organizational needs.
  • Participation in Administrative On-Call (AOC) rotation, weekday afterhours and weekends.
  • Competitive pay: $79,000 - $114,000, based on experience

Requirements

  • BSN required.
  • Current IL nursing license.
  • Minimum three (3) years current experience in hospice nursing.
  • Certified in Hospice and Palliative Nursing (CHPN) preferred. Mandatory certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Accreditation experience, preferably in a hospice environment.
  • Supervisory and administrative experience preferred.
  • Training experience in a professional environment required.
  • Knowledge of guidelines governing hospice Medicare participation and care
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Valid drivers' license.
  • Current auto insurance and access to a reliable automobile.
