Job Description
Responsible for investigating and confirming the facts of loss for the most complex automobile accidents. Determines coverage, liability, damages and otherwise adjusts and negotiates claims within limit of authority. Mentors and provides direction to junior employees.
We are seeking a Homeowners Liability Bodily Injury Adjuster to join our growing team! This role supports liability claims across all 50 states, with approximately 90% of the caseload focused on homeowners liability claims. The ideal candidate will have experience handling bodily injury litigation and homeowners liability claims, with litigation experience being required for success in the role. We are also open to candidates with a strong commercial claims background who can bring transferable liability and litigation expertise to the position. This role is open to candidates in the eastern and central time zone states.
Key Responsibilities
• Recognizes and identifies body parts of a vehicle or understanding other potential property damage
• Identifies customer needs and works to meet those needs using appropriate customer service skills
• Determines subrogation or fraud potential and how to handle for the most complex cases
• Applies advanced understanding of insurance policies written by the company, the industry, and organizational relationships within the company and department
• Recommends process improvements
• Applies increased experience in the Sr Adjuster level or a rotation into a specialty position (Coverage, Investigation Specialist, Total Loss, Initial Handler, Extended Handler, Litigation, etc.)
• For claims involving injuries (if handled), learns how to review, evaluate, and negotiate moderate to complex/Catastrophic injury claims
• Handles investigation regarding all aspects of the most complex auto claims (coverage, liability and damages) with the exercise discretion and independence within increased level of authority
Supervisory Responsibilities
• This job does not have supervisory duties.
As a requirement of employment, individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment. Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed to by the licensing team. Compensation
Base compensation offered for this role is:
BI Adjuster Sr Cons I: $68,500 - $117,700
BI Adjuster Sr Cons II: $70,100 - $124,500
Annually and is based on experience and qualifications. Total compensation for this role is comprised of several factors, including the base compensation outlined above, plus incentive pay (i.e. commission, bonus, etc.) if applicable for the role.
