ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis is a hands-on product ownership role, not a strategy-only seat. As Product Owner, you'll be the person closest to the product and the customers, making daily prioritization calls, managing a small cross-functional team, and ensuring HomeFront continues to solve real problems for homebuilders.
There are four parallel tracks to balance as the Product Owner:
- Growing the product - driving new customer acquisition, increasing platform adoption (DAU/MAU), and expanding HomeFront's market share among small to mid-sized home builders.
- Leading the productteam - be an effective leader and hold the team accountable for expected outcomes
- Managing the platform modernization - managing the day-to-day execution of a major initiative to rewrite HomeFront as a browser-based web application built on .NET web services and Blazor.
- Championing AI across the product and team - identifying opportunities to embed AI-powered features into Homefront that deliver real value to builders, and leveraging AI tools and workflows to accelerate how the team works day-to-day.
The Management owns the strategic vision. Your job is to execute - own the backlog, run the day-to-day product and project management, and be the voice of the customer in every decision.
Responsibilities of the Product Owner:
- Own the HomeFront product suite end-to-end: roadmap execution, backlog prioritization, and release planning
- Drive new customer acquisition by ensuring the product delivers compelling value to small and mid-sized builders
- Manage a team of 5 (1 BA/ Scrum Master, 1 QA Engineer, 1 Senior Developer, 3 Junior Developers), with the team expected to grow over time
- Serve as the primary voice of the customer - gather feedback, identify pain points, and translate them into actionable product improvements
- Manage day-to-day project management of the ColdFusion-to-React/Node.js modernization effort with the internal development team
- Maintain and improve the legacy application while the new platform is built
- Develop and execute a roadmap of initiatives tied to measurable KPIs
- Work directly with customers to pursue continued understanding of builder workflows, business process demands and requirements, and utilization necessities
- Collaborate with the Director of Product on strategic direction while owning tactical execution
- Lead the planning of product release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities
- Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
- Take responsibility to resolve concerns and problems (i.e., communication, trust and respect) within the team, department, and with customers
- Identify and prioritize AI-powered features that simplify builder workflows
- Use AI-driven tools and workflows in day-to-day work to accelerate product delivery, research, and decision-making
