Hollywood ReelTime is looking for a driven, creative, and digitally savvy Producer to join our collaborative team.

Hollywood ReelTime is a fast-growing entertainment news brand that lives at the intersection of television, digital, and social media. From breaking celebrity news and exclusive interviews to viral moments and pop culture trends, we deliver must-watch content wherever audiences are watching.

Our live daily show airs Monday through Friday at 7:30 PM on NBC4 Los Angeles, NBC Bay Area, and additional NBC-owned stations, while our digital and social platforms keep the conversation going around the clock.

This is an exciting opportunity to help build a new entertainment brand from the ground up, creating content that reaches millions of viewers across broadcast, digital, and social platforms.

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the entire HRT Team to produce engaging and entertaining pop culture content for digital platforms and a live, daily broadcast
  • Production responsibilities include writing, live line producing, sourcing elements, clearing footage
  • Produce segments both in-studio and in the field. From booking, to concepting, to writing and all details in-between
  • Capture behind-the-scenes video to clip and post on digital platforms
  • Knowledge and experience are a must about entertainment, pop-culture, current events and cultural stories that generate buzz
  • The HRT Producer brainstorms, pitches ideas, research topics and works closely with the Senior Executive Producer, Executive Producer and entire team to advance stories and produce segments both in-studio and in the field
  • Work with correspondents on day-of-air segments. Locate all video needed whether it be in-house archival or acquired through shoots, satellite feeds, company hand-outs
  • Work with editors and graphics team to create video elements for live segments and packages, create chyron elements in show rundowns, making sure all elements are done correctly
  • Book and produce taped and live interview segments, thoroughly research the guest/topic and conduct pre-interviews
  • Take ownership of segments from pitch to production, including but not limited to, updating show schedule, booking sheets, collecting relevant video, working with editors to cut elements for segment, summarizing pre-interview for host or correspondent, making certain of correct spelling and pronunciation of guest names, and adhering to booking rules
  • Plan and contribute to digital and social coverage
  • Work with sales teams to produce integrated content


Qualifications
  • At least 5 years' experience working in live show producing (i.e., morning shows, lifestyle shows, cable shows, broadcast TV, etc.)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience writing, producing for television and digital platforms
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field, or equivalent work experience in live television production
  • Experience creating compelling entertainment content
  • Proficiency in working with the latest television production technology (both hardware and software, i.e. Avid iNews, Dalet, and content management systems)
  • Experience in booking, segment producing, field producing in television
  • Experience with multiple forms of social media
  • Willing to work in Universal City, CA
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and overnights
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

  • Basic understanding and demonstration of editorial judgment and journalistic ethics in all platforms, including a current knowledge of laws of libel, slander and applicable FCC rules and regulations
  • Good collaborative and interpersonal skills to communicate at all levels

Additional Requirements:
  • Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
  • Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000
