Full Job Description
The Doubletree by Hilton Rochester Hotel is seeking an experienced General Manager to join our team. This position is 100% on-site, no remote work.

Located off I-390 and north of the New York State Thruway, the Doubletree Rochester features an open glass enclosed tropical atrium setting and has been completely renovated from top to bottom.

Host a conference or other event for up to 500 guests in the hotel's grand ballroom or utilize one of many other function spaces for social or business events. The hotel's Business Center provides facilities for keeping up with work. Plunge into the hotel's indoor swimming pool, or simply stay active in the fitness center with weight equipment and cardiovascular machines.

The hotel is convenient to downtown Rochester and Rochester International Airport. It features 248 Guestrooms with 12,000 Sq. Ft of Event Space.

Position Summary

The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, operational excellence, financial performance, guest satisfaction, team member engagement, and brand compliance of the Doubletree by Hilton Rochester. The General Manager will oversee all hotel departments and ensure the property achieves or exceeds ownership, guest, and Hilton performance expectations.

The successful candidate must possess prior General Manager experience with both Hilton Hotels & Resorts and Doubletree by Hilton properties and demonstrate a proven track record of driving guest satisfaction, revenue growth, profitability, associate development, and brand compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
  • Direct all aspects of hotel operations including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Sales & Marketing, Revenue Management, Finance, Human Resources, Engineering, and Housekeeping.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, guest service excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and develop department heads through coaching, training, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Ensure all hotel operations meet or exceed Hilton brand standards and ownership expectations.
  • Maintain the highest standards of guest service and operational efficiency.
Financial Management
  • Develop and execute annual operating budgets, capital plans, and strategic business initiatives.
  • Maximize revenue and profitability while maintaining expense controls.
  • Analyze financial statements, forecasts, labor costs, and operational metrics to drive performance.
  • Achieve targeted RevPAR, ADR, occupancy, flow-through, GOP, and EBITDA objectives.
  • Approve expenditures and manage hotel assets responsibly.
Sales, Marketing & Revenue Strategy
  • Partner with the Sales and Revenue Management teams to achieve business goals.
  • Support strategies to increase market share and improve overall hotel performance.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients, community leaders, tourism organizations, and local business partners.
  • Actively participate in revenue strategy discussions and forecasting processes.
Guest Experience
  • Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction metrics and service recovery programs.
  • Monitor guest feedback, online reputation scores, and Hilton Medallia performance.
  • Personally engage with guests and resolve escalated service issues promptly and professionally.
Human Resources & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, New York State, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Promote an inclusive, respectful, and harassment-free workplace.
  • Recruit, train, retain, and motivate a highly engaged workforce.
  • Administer performance management and corrective action processes consistently and fairly.
  • Foster workplace safety and compliance with OSHA standards.
Brand & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure compliance with all Hilton and DoubleTree brand standards.
  • Successfully prepare for and achieve favorable results on Hilton Quality Assurance audits and inspections.
  • Implement property improvement initiatives and operational enhancements.
  • Oversee risk management and loss prevention programs.
Community & Ownership Relations
  • Serve as the primary liaison between ownership, management company leadership, and hotel operations.
  • Represent the hotel in community, tourism, industry, and charitable organizations.
  • Maintain positive relationships with franchise representatives, vendors, and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a General Manager within a Hilton-branded hotel.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a General Manager at a Doubletree by Hilton property.
  • Demonstrated success leading full-service hotels with significant Food & Beverage and meeting space operations.
  • Proven record of achieving financial and operational performance objectives.
  • Experience managing annual budgets exceeding $10 million.
  • Strong understanding of Hilton systems, programs, and brand standards.
  • Local Applicants are preferred. Currently, no relocation being offered.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the hotel.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
