Job Summary:The Field Coordinator/Inspector position is responsible for fully understanding construction project plans and specifications, being knowledgeable of safety requirements and identifying potential concerns, and understanding the contractor quality control requirements while providing quality assurance oversight, field quantity tracking, and recording of units and related project documentation into the system of record. This position will inspect and direct contractor work associated with main and service installation, main retirement, or general maintenance. They will maintain accurate records and drawings as required.
Position Function, Duties, and Responsibilities:- Use construction design specifications; inspect and direct outside underground contractor work on gas mains, services, and/or project restoration work to ensure new construction is installed in accordance with all company and industry standards.
- Prepare all documents of construction, including daily progress reports, work tickets, and drawings of projects. Requisition company material for the job and coordinate pickup and delivery. Reconcile or balance material drawn out, material used, and material returned.
- Responsible for all safety on the job site and in the public way while working, and also at the close of the work day.
- Perform physical work including walking distances, climbing up and down ladders, and using tapelines, measuring wheels, and basic survey equipment such as a construction level.
- Communicate verbally and in writing to shop personnel, contractors, and construction management to ensure operational success. Perform work functionally in Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, and other "Expert Systems" used in the construction process.
- Evaluate whether proper materials and procedures are used by others to properly make welds in the field or in the shop.
- Confirm compliance with industry and company weld specifications.
- Be familiar and knowledgeable with, and enforce, NDE procedures, codes, and standards.
- Review company weld procedures prior to implementation in the field.
- Verify welding personnel are qualified in the weld practices being performed.
- Prepare a register and reports of welding personnel and equipment qualification.
- Inspect welds and approve that they meet company specifications.
- Monitor and verify weld repairs are tracked and conducted in an approved manner.
- Communicate all anomalies to the Supervisor.
- Review and approve/disapprove all Weld Daily Reports and forward to the Supervisor.
Leadership Level:Informal Leader - No direct reports
May provide feedback on team member/co-worker performance to immediate supervisor.
Decision Making Level:Limited (Individual Contributor)
Typically resolves straightforward problems or problems that have routine solutions. Operates under direct supervision of the Construction Project Manager.
Minimum Experience Required:1+ years
Standard computer applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) to generate reports, create pertinent documentation and supply information to relevant parties.
1+ years
Experience in interpreting and applying construction design specifications.
1+ years
Staging projects or assigning and completing tasks as part of a project team.

Bachelor's Degree preferred
Area of Study:
Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
Certifications:
REQUIRED• AMPP (formerly NACE) - Coating Inspector Program, Level 01
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Pipeline Welding Inspector (CPWI)

• Familiar with API 1104 (American Petroleum Institute Standard for Welding of Pipeline and

Job Requirements:Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license

Compensation & Benefits:- Competitive base pay ($45.00 to $50.00 per hour).
