The Role
We are currently recruiting Field/Shop Heavy Equipment Technician to support on-going maintenance and repair of our heavy equipment fleet. This position is full time and based out of our Fort McKay, AB shop.
Priority will be given to eligible candidates that reside in the Municipality of Wood Buffalo. A travel allowance and camp accommodations will be made available to non-residents. 10/4 rotation for local residents to Fort McMurray. 20/10 rotation for residents who live outside of Fort McMurray.

Responsibilities/Duties
- Diagnosis and maintenance on construction and pipeline equipment - various makes and models.
- Ensure FLRA is completed at the beginning of every job and work is completed safely.
- Complete equipment maintenance in line with OCL and industry standards, procedures and practices.
- Independent work environment, without direct supervision.
- Ensure goals are met and progress is communicated to the supervisor.
Experience/Education/Qualifications
- Journey-certified Heavy Duty Off Road Mechanic/HET's with an Interprovincial Red Seal Certification
- A minimum 3-5 years of related experience
- Preference equipment experience
- A driver's license and a clean driver's abstract
- Must successfully complete a site pre-access drug and alcohol test
- Must be able to pass a Criminal Record Check
- CSTS, CSO/BSO and various other site specific training required
- Confined Space, AWP, Fall Protection are required
- WHMIS 2015 is required
- H2S Awareness is required
- Crane and Rigging experience and training is an asset
- Great attitude towards health and safety
