What You Will Do:We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Heat Treat Cell at the Columbus, GA Disk Forging facility. The
Heat Treat Manufacturing Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency, quality, and reliability of heat treatment processes essential to aerospace component production. The Heat Treat Manufacturing Engineer emphasizes continuous improvement, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration to maintain the highest manufacturing standards.
- Develop and maintain heat treatment processes for aerospace disk forging, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards.
- Analyze production data and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, and increase productivity within the heat treat cell.
- Collaborate with quality, operations, and design engineering teams to resolve manufacturing issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process and quality-related issues.
- Support new product introductions (NPIs) by developing and validating heat treatment procedures, tooling, and equipment.
- Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and training materials for operators and technicians.
- Interface with suppliers to ensure proper material specifications and address technical challenges related to heat treatment processes.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations within the heat treat cell.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to identify opportunities for process optimization and waste reduction.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and internal assessments to ensure adherence to quality management systems.
Qualifications You Must Have:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field and 2 or more years of experience in an aerospace, engineering, manufacturing operations, materials, quality, process improvement/continuous improvement or related environment OR a Master's degree and at least 1 year of relevant experience
- Understanding of heat treatment methods, metallurgy, and material properties.
- Proficiency in CAD software, manufacturing simulation tools, and data analysis techniques.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
Qualifications We Prefer:- Experience in aerospace manufacturing or forging processes
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- Hands-on experience with heat treatment equipment and controls
- Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and specifications (AMS, AS9100, etc.)
- Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and process capability analysis

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
