Full Job Description
Overview
In Sacramento, we’re building something. We have strong surgical talent, a growing patient base, and infrastructure to support it. What we need is the right person to connect us with the medical community that makes it all work. As an Area Manager, you’re NVISION’s face in the Sacramento optometry community. You’ll spend your days visiting optometry offices, building trust with doctors and their staff, and making it easy for their patients to receive incredible care. This isn’t a transactional sales job — you’re building long-term relationships with providers who want confidence that their patients will be in good hands. When a provider refers a patient for care, your job is to make sure that trust is never misplaced. You’ll also be the feedback loop. When a referred patient has a great experience, you make sure their provider knows. When something goes sideways, you help fix it. Anticipated earnings inclusive of base and bonus is $100,000 - $115,000. Responsibilities
  • Build and manage a territory of referring ODs across Sacramento and surrounding areas — tracking visit frequency, referral volume, and relationship quality for each office
  • Walk into practices — confidently, warmly, and with something useful to offer (clinical updates, patient education materials, event invites, lunch)
  • Host and coordinate educational events — dinners, lunch-and-learns, in-office presentations — where NVISION surgeons share insights directly with referring providers
  • Monitor the patient experience end-to-end: from the moment an OD sends a referral to the co-management follow-up after surgery
  • Identify new referring offices and develop a pipeline of new relationships in the territory
  • Maintain accurate activity records and referral tracking in CRM
Qualifications

You might be a great fit if:

  • 2+ years of sales experience (medical sales preferred but not required)
  • You genuinely enjoy people — building rapport comes naturally, not as a technique
  • You’re organized and self-directed; you can manage a multi-site territory without someone scheduling your week
  • You’re comfortable with ambiguity and motivated by building something, not just maintaining it
  • Bachelor’s Degree from 4-year accredited college or university preferred
  • You have a valid California driver’s license and are ready to be on the road most days

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary + performance-based incentives tied to referral growth
  • Full benefits: medical, dental, vision, 401(k)
  • Mileage reimbursement and expense coverage for territory activities
  • Ongoing clinical training so you’re always armed with relevant, current information
  • A collaborative team and direct access to our surgeons and clinical leadership
  • Real growth potential as we continue to expand across Northern California
