Full Job Description
We are currently looking for a Full Time Healthcare Engineering Manager to join our Healthcare Engineering Team team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center.

Summary:

Leads the operation, maintenance, and compliance of all facility systems in a healthcare environment. Ensures a safe, reliable care setting by managing staff, projects, budgets, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:
* Oversees daily operations of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, medical gas, and life safety)
* Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements
* Develops and manages preventive and predictive maintenance programs
* Plans and executes capital projects, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades
* Manages department budgets, contracts, and vendor performance
* Leads, trains, and evaluates engineering and maintenance staff
* Coordinates with clinical, IT, and administrative teams to minimize disruptions to patient care
* Supports emergency preparedness, utility outages, and incident response
* Maintains accurate documentation, drawings, and compliance records
* Maintains accurate warranty logs of all warranty issues and documents actions taken to resolve problems during the warranty period
* Prepares and implements CNDH performance appraisal documents for each employee under his/her supervision
* Meets with department heads throughout the system to ensure work requests and preventive services have been performed in a timely manner
* Performs all other duties as assigned

Competencies:

* Ability to read, understand and interpret electrical, mechanical, civil, and structural drawings and specifications
* Ability to provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance against set standards
* Good driving record and be insurable by the Chickasaw Nation
* Prioritizes, meets deadlines and works independently in a high-pressure environment and uses appropriate judgement in upward communication regarding assignments
* Demonstrated knowledge with hospital infrastructure systems
* Demonstrated knowledge and success managing preventive maintenance programs and regulatory compliance
* Demonstrated knowledge and success overseeing capital projects, renovations, or facility upgrades
* Demonstrated knowledge and success with contract oversight
* Knowledge at the craftsman level in two (2) of the following trades: HVAC, electrical, plumbing and general building construction
* Knowledge of international fire codes (IFC), international building codes (IBC), electrical codes (NEC), and international plumbing codes (IPC)
* Significant competency in vendor management
* Knowledge of general office budgeting practices
* Knowledge to read, understand, and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
* Knowledge of environment of care requirements of joint commission
* Knowledge of all applicable regulatory and accrediting agency requirements
* Knowledge of mechanical systems, including energy management and control system, HVAC systems, plumbing and medical gases, electrical distribution, emergency power, fire protection systems, etc.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills
* Ability to address large groups through presentations and/or speeches
* Writes effective communications with team, departments, guests and management

Skills:
Essential:
* Basic Computer skills
* Must be familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite of products
* Advanced project management skills

Experience:
Essential:
* 3 years directly related supervisory experience

* 3 years of experience in facilities engineering or maintenance, preferably in a healthcare setting

Education:
Essential:
* High School, GED or Equivalent

Credentials:
Essential:
* CN Core Leadership Level 2
* Pass general background check
* Standard Driver's License
* Forklift/Man Lift certification
* Electrical Contractor License
* Mechanical Contractor License
* Plumbing Contractor License
* Certified Health Care Facility Manager

Essential:
* Completion of level one Core Leadership Training within 18 months of the hire or promotion date
* Must obtain Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) within four (4) years oh hire or promotion if not current

Working Conditions:

* Works in a hospital or clinic environment
* Mix of office/non-office settings
* Construction site
* Interacts with patients in difficult and/or emergency situations
* Frequently lift and or carry up to 25 lbs
* Sometimes lift and or carry up to 50 lbs
