Position Description: Healthcare Data Scientist/Engineer
We are seeking a versatile Healthcare Data Scientist/Engineer to join our team supporting CGI PulseAI for HealthCare delivery. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex healthcare data and actionable insights by designing scalable data solutions, developing predictive models, and delivering analytics that help improve member health outcomes and operational efficiency.
You will work with healthcare, clinical, and technology stakeholders to transform claims, clinical, pharmacy, and laboratory data into trusted data products and advanced analytics solutions. This role can be based near a CGI office within the United States.
Your future duties and responsibilities:• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for healthcare data, including claims, EMR/EHR, pharmacy, and laboratory data
• Develop, validate, and deploy machine learning models supporting risk stratification, disease prediction, and utilization management
• Integrate and transform healthcare data using interoperability standards such as FHIR and HL7 and coding systems including ICD-10 and CPT
• Apply data quality controls and governance practices to maintain the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of healthcare data
• Protect sensitive healthcare information and support compliance with HIPAA and requirements governing Protected Health Information (PHI)
• Partner with clinical, business, and technology stakeholders to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
• Develop scalable analytics solutions using cloud and big data platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, or Snowflake
• Communicate analytical findings through clear data visualizations, presentations, and data-driven narratives
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in a data-centric role within healthcare, health insurance, or a closely related industry
• Strong proficiency in Python, including libraries and frameworks such as Pandas, Scikit-learn, and PySpark
• Advanced SQL skills with experience working with large, complex datasets
• Experience developing data solutions using cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Hands-on experience with data and analytics platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake
• Experience with data orchestration and software development tools such as Airflow and Git
• Working knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards and coding systems, including FHIR, HL7, ICD-10, and CPT
• Strong understanding of healthcare payer operations, revenue cycle processes, or clinical informatics
• Ability to communicate complex technical and analytical concepts effectively to clinical, business, and technical stakeholders
Strongly Preferred
• Experience applying Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to unstructured clinical notes or other healthcare data
• Experience with visualization and business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI
• Knowledge of the medical claims lifecycle and healthcare quality measures, including HEDIS and Stars
• Experience developing or operationalizing predictive analytics and machine learning solutions in a healthcare environment

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $100,000.00 $176,300.00.
