Overview

Health Services Administrator

 

RiverWoods is currently hiring for a Health Services Administrator to come and join our team! The Health Services Administrator performs the following functions: Responsible for the day-to-day operations within the health center and provides leadership, direction, and strategic initiatives of RiverWoods Exeter including but not limited to, Assisted Living, Enhanced Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations to provide the highest quality of care to residents. The Administrator will have direct oversight of various departments including DHS, Social Services, Scheduling, Medical Records, MDS Coordination, and HC Administration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Strategic Leadership for Health Center operations, including direct supervision, coaching, and development of department leaders.
  • Foster an Engaged Culture that reflects RiverWoods values and delivers exceptional resident care, safety, and compassion.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance with all federal, state, licensing, accreditation, and organizational requirements.
  • Maintain Survey Readiness and lead responses to audits, inspections, investigations, plans of correction, and other regulatory actions.
  • Oversee Daily Operations to ensure efficient, high-quality resident services and a safe, clean environment.
  • Manage Financial Performance by partnering with the Executive Director and Finance team on operating, capital, labor, and staffing budgets; monitor census, expenses, revenue, and workforce utilization.
  • Lead Quality Improvement (QAPI) initiatives through performance monitoring, data analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Drive Admissions and Census Growth by partnering with Sales, Nursing, Finance, and Social Services to manage admissions, transitions, bed utilization, and payer mix.
  • Build Strong Relationships with residents, families, staff, healthcare providers, educational partners, vendors, and community organizations.
  • Address Resident and Family Concerns promptly, ensuring compliance with grievance processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead Emergency Preparedness and Risk Management activities, including incident response, investigations, safety initiatives, emergency operations, and regulatory reporting.
  • Develop and Improve Policies and Procedures in partnership with organizational leadership to support operational excellence and compliance.
  • Manage Contracted Services and maintain effective relationships with medical providers, rehabilitation, laboratory, pharmacy, hospice, billing, staffing, and other service partners.
  • Represent RiverWoods in the Community and support community engagement initiatives and events when appropriate.
  • Provide After-Hours Leadership as part of an administrator-on-call rotation and respond to operational, regulatory, staffing, or resident care emergencies as needed.
Specific Job Requirements
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and team management skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of post-acute care regulations, CMS requirements, and state licensing standards.
  • Ability to interpret and implement policies, procedures, and operational goals.
  • Experience developing and managing operating, labor, staffing, and capital budgets.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, vendors, and community partners.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, professional integrity, and compliance with organizational policies and the RiverWoods Code of Conduct.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.

 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university; . Master’s degree preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain a current, valid, unencumbered New Hampshire Nursing Home Administrator license.
  • 5+ years Long Term Care (or equivalent) supervisory and/or managerial experience required. 10+ years preferred.
  • Certification with the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) is preferred.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency skills with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must have a solid working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records systems.
  • Must have good interpersonal relations with proven communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with Time and Attendance software systems is necessary.
  • Must be able to cope with frequent interruptions and manage multiple, competing priorities.
  • Must be able to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position and the facility.
