Health, Safety, Security and Enviornment Manager - JLL
What this job involves - The HSSE Manager position will be a key member of the Account Team. The focus will be on-site program management and ensure compliance and execution from site teams with regard to JLL and client requirements. This role provides hands‑on support in safety training, inspections, incident response, regulatory adherence, and workplace hazard prevention.
What your day to day will look like:
- Become the primary point of contact for HSSE requirements and activities. Communicate HSSE needs and results to account and business leaders.
- Play a lead role in the continued development and refinement of JLL’s HSSE culture and training programs on the account.
- Provide technical expertise, strategic leadership, and support on HSSE regulatory compliance issues.
- Ensure development and maintenance of the account training matrix.
- Collaborate with the JLL HSSE Life Sciences team to share best practices across accounts.
- Manage trend analysis to adjust management systems as necessary.
- Provide JLL Team and Client Team with key performance and risk indicators.
- Ensure that HSSE accidents, injuries, near misses/good catches are properly managed and reviewed for trends.
- Participate with operating sites as needed to lead or support investigations of serious safety events, the analysis of root cause(s), support/track the implementation of effective corrective actions, and prepare communications to share the lessons-learned from such events across the account operations.
- Support environmental compliance efforts as specified in the JLL/client Master Service Agreement (MSA)/Statement of Work (SOW).
- Maintain account HSSE procedures, documentation and records.
- Support ISO 45001 & 14001 management system certification activities.
- Key contact for client support related to HSSE communications and activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ degree in safety management, industrial hygiene, environmental science, or relevant field.
- 5+ years of HSSE experience in high hazard/risk environments
- Practical working knowledge of Health and Safety tools and techniques, ideally within a Facilities Management environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant standards, legislation, codes of practice, guidance and operating procedures.
- Good Presentation and Communication
- Strong organizational skills, information management proficiency and collaborative management style are needed.
- Evidence of strong interpersonal skills in order to establish credibility with colleagues and clients.
- Ability to work through and identify the root cause of any problem.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel for up to 30%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- General Industry OSHA certifications desired (CHM, CSHM, CIH, CSP, CEP, etc.)
- GMP/GxP experience highly desired.
- Relevant professional certification(s) or masters’ degree a plus.
Location: Open to Candidates Based in Charlotte, NC or Chicago, IL. Will be on-site Monday to Friday with up to 30% travel.
This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Estimated compensation for this position:
100,000.00 – 112,000.00 USD per year
This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
