Summary of Position

As the Health Plan Strategy & Sales Sr. Director, you will be a pivotal leader in driving the growth and success of our health plan partnerships. You will develop and execute strategic initiatives to expand market presence, drive sales growth, and foster strong relationships with health plan partners. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, sales expertise, and healthcare industry knowledge to position our organization for continued success in the dynamic healthcare landscape.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Health Plan Sales Strategy: Lead the development and execution of comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and expand market share within the health plan segment.
  • Build and Manage Health Plan Partner Relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key health plan partners, serving as the primary point of contact for strategic discussions and collaboration.
  • Drive New Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities with health plan partners, leveraging market insights and industry trends to develop compelling value propositions.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with internal teams such as product development, marketing, and operations to ensure alignment of sales strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Analyze Market Trends and Competitive Landscape: Monitor market dynamics, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform sales strategies and identify areas for differentiation.
  • Lead Sales Presentations and Negotiations: Develop and deliver persuasive sales presentations to health plan executives, negotiate contracts, and close deals to drive revenue growth.
  • Track and Report Sales Performance: Establish key performance metrics and reporting mechanisms to track sales performance, analyze results, and identify opportunities for improvement.


Qualifications Expected for Position
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, Finance, Public Health, or a related field required; Master's degree (MBA, MHA, MPH) preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in healthcare sales, health plan partnerships, business development, account management, or payer strategy.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful health plan sales strategies that drive revenue growth, market expansion, and long-term client retention.
  • Deep knowledge of the healthcare payer landscape, including Commercial, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), and value-based care models.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, cultivate, negotiate, and close complex enterprise-level contracts with health plans, payers, or healthcare organizations.
  • Strong consultative selling, relationship management, and executive-level communication skills with experience presenting to C-suite executives and senior healthcare leaders.
  • Experience developing compelling business cases, value propositions, proposals, and sales presentations tailored to healthcare payer audiences.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support client meetings, industry conferences, and business development activities.


Preferred Skills
  • Experience working with population health, care management, value-based care, risk adjustment, quality improvement, or healthcare technology solutions.
  • Existing network of health plans and healthcare industry contacts.
  • Experience responding to RFPs, developing strategic partnerships, and managing large-scale health plan implementations.


The base salary range for this position is $145,000 - $155,000. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here: Teladoc Health Benefits 2026. Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.

We follow a Flexible Vacation Policy, intended for rest, relaxation, and personal time. All time off must be approved by your manager prior to use. You will also receive 80 hours of Paid Sick, Safe, and Caregiver Leave annually. This applies to full-time positions only.
