Education
Master's degree in scientific discipline from accredited academic institution or equivalent.
Specialized Experience
• At least 15 years of managing radiation safety services and project management.
• Proficient in performing radiation surveys and inspections to identify safety and health hazards and assessing compliance with regulations.
• Preparing written reports to document survey findings.
• Conducting checks to confirm the security of radioactive materials.
• Preparing and decontaminating patient therapy rooms.
• Proficient in conducting field calibrations and inspections of survey meters used for monitoring radiological contamination.
• Proficient in conducting calibrations of instruments used to measure exposure or dose equivalent rates.
• Entering data in provided approved government databases.
• Proficient in designing and performing MARSSIM-style final status decommissioning surveys.
Certifications
Credentialed as a certified health physicist (CHP) is preferred or other related certification or having served as a Radiation Safety Officer or Associate Radiation Safety Officer. Years of experience can be substituted for CHP.
