Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Arlington facility on a full-time basis.

The Role:

The Health Center Physician Assistant or Nursing Practitioner works under the direction of a Health Center Medical Director or physician to support delivery of medical care. They oversee and provide direct patient care and treatment, perform medical examinations, integrate with the health center nurse supervisor, support the site emergency response program, and promote health and well-being in an automotive manufacturing setting

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Practice Medical Examinations
  • Support Disability/WC management
  • Support corporate Medical Initiatives
  • Integrate with Health Center Nurse Supervisor to support the business and business partners
  • Responsible for the site Emergency Response Program
  • Promote Wellness/Wellbeing initiatives at the site
  • Support Medical Department Objectives
  • Follow GM Medical Department policies and procedures
  • Provide physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner vacation and absence coverage
  • Follow all Federal and State occupational medical requirements and laws
  • Maintain all appropriate licensure, certifications, and training
  • Support medical department audits
  • Participate in Job Site Evaluations and provide Medical Opinion to support management of the OSHA Log
  • Concisely document all patient medical assessments and treatments in the Electronic Medical Record
  • Clinical Occupational Medicine Practice, Medical Examinations, Support Disability/WC Management, Responsible for the site Emergency Response Program
  • Diagnosis and treatment of injuries and illnesses as approved by the Medical Director and may include simple procedures
  • Conduct medical surveillance and medical qualification examinations
  • Participate in the management of disability and Workers Compensation including fitness for duty, return to work exams and employee placement
  • Lead or participate in preventative occupational health activities: Ergonomics, Bloodborne pathogens, Travel medicine
  • Lead or participate in medical emergency response team and activities at the plant level, including assisting/overseeing in training and acting as coordinator as indicated
  • Manage First Responders
  • Support Corporate Medical Initiatives
  • Training
  • Special Projects
  • Policy and Procedure review and creation
  • Partner with the Health Center Nurse Supervisor to
  • Provide Occupational health and medical support, guidance and information to plant manufacturing staff, HR, Union representatives, safety, industrial hygiene, and ergonomics staff as directed
  • Promote Employee Health and Wellbeing
  • Health education and coaching
  • EAP services and support
  • Attend Plant meetings as requested by the Health Center Nurse Supervisor


Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
  • 3+ years of relevant medical experience

  • Must be able to work on an Off Shit (2nd Shift and 3rd Shift)


Education and Training - PA
  • Master's degree in appropriate field required
  • PA certification is required
  • Valid medical license in the State(s) of practice


Education and Training - NP
  • Master of Science degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice degree required
  • Board certification is required
  • Valid medical license in the State(s) of practice
