SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Health and Safety Advisor (SHE-Q Advisor)

Salary- $70,000 - $100,000

Working out of Guelph or Etobicoke, ON

Mammoet is looking for a Health and Safety Advisor (SHE-Q Advisor) to support safe, compliant and high-quality operations across our jobsites and workplaces. In this role, you will assess work activities, conduct safety inspections, support on-the-job training, and help ensure employees and subcontractors follow Mammoet, client and regulatory standards. Your work will directly contribute to minimizing safety incidents and strengthening our safety culture.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Inspect jobsites and workplaces to identify safety hazards, assess work practices, and confirm that employees are using required personal protective equipment and following company safety policies.
  • Maintain strong awareness of HSE requirements and promote safe execution of work for employees, subcontractors, customers and other stakeholders.
  • Identify training needs on the job and support line management in providing safety training, orientations and coaching to field personnel and new hires.
  • Discuss safety risks, hazards and safe work expectations with employees and subcontractors.
  • Investigate incidents, determine root causes, prepare findings, and recommend preventive measures to reduce the likelihood of recurrence.
  • Prepare and submit SHE-Q reports, incident documentation and related records using defined standards, procedures and systems.
  • Review subcontractor safety documentation for compliance with Mammoet and client standards, and provide support or training where required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date SHE-Q administration, records and data in applicable systems.
  • Support the SHE-Q Manager with reporting needs, performance insights and continuous improvement activities.
  • Coverage of petrochemical and nuclear sites will be required from time to time, during shutdowns, etc.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Associate degree in Health, Safety and Environment, with approximately five years of relevant experience; or vocational education in a technical discipline with approximately eight years of relevant field experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, practices and systems.
  • Experience supporting safety in field, jobsite, industrial, heavy lifting, transport, construction or related operational environments.
  • Working knowledge of heavy lifting and transport equipment is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and applicable SHE-Q systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports and communicate safety expectations effectively.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • French communication skills are a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, including to remote jobsites for periods of time when required.
