  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and transition problem loans to specialized departments.
  • Influence and develop policies and procedures for managing criticized Business Lending relationships company-wide.
  • Provide monthly forecasts on non-performing assets and related financial indicators.
  • Oversee liquidation processes and SBA reporting for troubled loans.

Full Job Description
Provide leadership in the resolution of Small Business Banking problem loan relationships. Maximize the Bank's return and minimize losses on criticized business lending relationships in accordance with the Bank's short and long term strategic goals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. 1. Provide leadership and coaching to Asset Managers, Administrative Support, and Team Leaders in all facets of their duties, such as management of past dues, maturities, and development and implementation of resolution strategies for criticized Business Lending relationships within the Bank. 2. Direct the negotiation of effective problem loan resolution plans with borrowers that comply with Bank policy on accrual and carrying value and regulatory guidance that may incorporate complex credit analysis and specialized negotiating skills to prevent or mitigate loss to the Bank for criticized Business Lending relationships 3. Responsible for ensuring that all risk ratings, accrual status and asset carrying values are appropriate for all areas under management 4. Partner with CSBB and CLU leadership to ensure the timely recognition of problem lending relationships and their orderly transition to SSDS. 5. Provide broad companywide leadership and intradepartmental influence in developing, implementing or enhancing policies and procedures impacting management of all the Bank's criticized Business Lending relationships. 6. Provide monthly specific forecasting for non-performing assets, losses, and OREO transfers for areas under management 7. Oversee the liquidation and guarantee purchase of SBA problem relationships. Oversee reporting for loans in liquidation to the SBA and Treasury. QUALIFICATIONS Required Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. A minimum of 15 years of experience in commercial lending or equivalent experience, with at least 10 years of problem loan resolution, including foreclosed properties, bankruptcies and business loan recoveries, or other comparable credit experience. 3. A minimum of 10 years of management experience, with emphasis on problem loan resolution. 4. Superior negotiating, interpersonal, independent decision making, oral and written communication skills. 5. Superior process improvement skills. 6. Overall sound judgment with ability to function at a high level in a dynamic and at times highly adversarial environment. 7. Demonstrated ability to coach and lead. 8. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products. Preferred Qualifications: 1. MBA or graduate of a major banking school 2. 15 years of experience in small business/commercial lending 3. 10 years of experience in problem loan resolution
