About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking the Head of Risk Aggregation, Reporting and Capital to lead the capital management, regulatory reporting, risk aggregation, and portfolio analytics functions for the Markets division. Reporting to the Head of Markets Portfolio Management, this leader will establish and oversee a centralized function responsible for delivering a comprehensive view of counterparty and lending exposures across Equities, Commodities, Credit, Macro, Municipals, and Structured Products Group (SPG).
This role is critical to enhancing balance sheet optimization, regulatory reporting, capital efficiency, and portfolio transparency across the Markets platform. The successful candidate will partner closely with senior leaders across Markets, Finance, Product Control, Sales, Technology, the COO organization, and Independent Risk Management to drive strategic initiatives, strengthen governance, and advance the division's data and technology agenda.
In this role, you will:
- Build and lead a centralized risk aggregation function that provides an integrated view of counterparty, lending, and portfolio exposures across all Markets businesses
- Develop and oversee portfolio reporting and analytics, including risk, returns, concentration, utilization, and performance metrics across Markets Portfolio Management coverage teams
- Lead regulatory reporting activities for the Markets division, including Basel submissions, FR 2052a reporting, Basel III Endgame implementation, and other regulatory initiatives
- Partner with business leaders and deal teams to evaluate capital-efficient transaction structures and optimize balance sheet utilization through RWA, capital, and returns analysis
- Deliver comprehensive management reporting and executive dashboards, including Power BI solutions used to monitor balance sheet usage, pipeline activity, risk appetite, portfolio concentrations, and strategic objectives
- Collaborate with Finance, Product Control, Sales, Technology, COO, and Independent Risk Management teams to establish a consistent data framework and enhance data quality, governance, and reporting capabilities
- Drive the Markets Portfolio Management data and technology strategy, including automation, advanced analytics, and the implementation of AI-enabled solutions
- Establish governance frameworks, operating routines, and execution disciplines for a newly centralized function while ensuring alignment with enterprise risk and business objectives
- Lead, develop, and mentor a team responsible for capital management, regulatory reporting, portfolio analytics, and strategic reporting, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture
- Serve as a senior advisor to Markets leadership by providing insights on portfolio performance, emerging risks, capital allocation, and strategic decision-making
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of CIB Portfolio Management or leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience across Markets products, including prime, stock loan/borrow, equity swaps, FCM, OTC derivatives, repo/reverse repo, TRS, TBA, structured financing and term margin loans
- Experience evaluating Basel treatment across securitization, wholesale, counterparty and market risk
- Knowledge of RWA calculation drivers and experience reviewing SSFA and SFA submissions
- Capital advisory experience, including capital-efficient structuring and portfolio returns analysis
- Experience with balance sheet forecasting, CCAR stress testing, concentration limit forecasting, and CTC and SCCL submissions
- Experience building Power BI management reporting and dashboards
- Experience developing AI use cases for underwriting, portfolio management and reporting
- Structured products origination or underwriting experience a plus
- Experience leading teams across multiple locations, including offshore and Wells Fargo India resources
- Ability to synthesize complex analysis into executive level communications
- Ability to build a function from the ground up
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
