As the leader of the Global Proprietary Events team, you will architect and steer a world-class portfolio that serves as a primary driver for our brand and pipeline. You will oversee a diverse ecosystem of in-person experiences—including our annual flagship user conference, regional roadshows and multi-day developer events. This is a high-impact role for a visionary leader who excels at balancing creative attendee journeys with the operational rigor required of a multi-billion dollar enterprise.
This role is remote with travel, both domestic and international, anticipated up to 30% of the time.
Strategic Leadership & Impact
Visionary Portfolio Management: Build and evolve a strategic events roadmap that aligns with company-wide priorities, ensuring every event serves as a catalyst for our mission and values.
Enterprise Alignment: Act as a strategic partner to Marketing, Sales, Field, and Channel leadership to ensure event strategies are deeply integrated into the go-to-market motion and localized for global relevance.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Establish a culture of accountability by using data and analytics to measure event ROI, attendee sentiment, and pipeline impact. You will use these insights to justify investments, pivot strategies, and optimize the portfolio for growth.
Creative Excellence: Set the standard for high-fidelity event experiences that engage, educate, and inspire, ensuring our products are showcased through a lens of innovation and customer success.
Operational & People Excellence

Responsibilities
You will lead the proprietary events team and build a world-class proprietary events portfolio that includes digital and in-person event campaigns. This portfolio includes our annual user conference, regional road shows, developer events and community led conferences.
You will collaborate with marketing, sales, field, and channel leaders to align event strategies with company vision, priorities, and target audiences, including the localization of strategies for regional events.
You will design event experiences that engage, educate, and entertain attendees while reflecting our values and showcasing our products.
You will develop operational structures and processes for efficient, flexible teamwork with global teams across Atlassian, including the creation of event frameworks and playbooks.
You will manage complex event budgets including revenue modeling, contract risk mitigations, attrition and forecasting.

Pay RangesIn The United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $188,100 - $245,575
Zone B: $169,290 - $221,018
Zone C: $156,123 - $203,827
QualificationsQualifications
15+ Years of Experience: A proven track record in enterprise technology event management, with a deep understanding of the complexities of the B2B SaaS landscape.
Elite People Leadership: 10+ years of experience leading large, diverse teams (10+ direct reports) including FTEs and contractors. You have a reputation for developing "leaders of leaders."
Global Acumen: Extensive experience managing international projects, including localization, translation services, and navigating the complexities of international tax and multi-currency budgets.
Strategic & Analytical Mindset: You are as comfortable in a spreadsheet as you are in a creative brainstorm. You have a demonstrated ability to use data to tell a story and drive executive-level decision-making.
Hybrid Expertise: A background that spans both corporate strategy and production/logistics, giving you a 360-degree view of what it takes to execute at scale.
Omni-Channel Mastery: Proven experience integrating events into broader omni-channel marketing campaigns and lead generation activities.
