Full Job Description
About the Role

Nuro is looking for a Head of Product to lead the company's product strategy and roadmap as we commercialize and scale.

This is a deeply technical, customer-obsessed product leadership role for someone excited to build at the intersection of autonomy, AI, robotics, operations, partner integration, and commercial deployment. Reporting to the co-CEO, you will translate customer needs, partner requirements, technical capabilities, operational constraints, and business priorities into a clear product roadmap: defining what Nuro should build, why it matters, and how it enables commercial scale.

You will be responsible for ensuring Nuro builds the long-term autonomy products needed to expand across customers, geographies, vehicle platforms, and use cases, while representing Nuro's technical capabilities externally and turning commercialization opportunities into actionable product requirements internally.
About the Work
  • Own Nuro's product strategy and roadmap. You will define and drive the company-level product roadmap for the Nuro Driver and related commercialization products. You will identify the highest-value product bets, clarify tradeoffs, and ensure Nuro's roadmap is grounded in customer needs, technical feasibility, operational readiness, and business impact.
  • Translate customer needs into technical requirements. You will work closely with customers and partners to understand their technical, operational, and commercial requirements, then translate those needs into clear product requirements and technical priorities. You will ensure teams have the context, clarity, and specifications needed to build the right product for commercialization.
  • Partner deeply across technical and operational teams. You will be a trusted partner to teams across Autonomy, Systems, Infrastructure, Data, Operations, Program Management, Business Development, and Legal. You will understand what can be built, where constraints exist, what tradeoffs matter, and how product decisions affect autonomy performance, scalability, safety, and deployment readiness.
  • Shape the commercialization roadmap. You will help define how Nuro scales autonomy across customers, markets, geographies, operating domains, and vehicle platforms. You will connect the long-term autonomy roadmap with near-term commercial milestones, ensuring Nuro is building toward scalable deployment and customer success.
  • Serve as an executive product voice. You will represent the product roadmap across the executive team and with key external partners. You will bring structure to complex decisions, communicate technical and commercial tradeoffs clearly, and ensure product strategy is connected to company strategy.
  • Build product discipline. You will establish the right product operating model for Nuro's next stage. This includes improving how product requirements are defined, how roadmap decisions are made, how tradeoffs are surfaced, and how Product, Engineering, Program Management, Operations, and technical teams work together.
About You
  • Customer-Obsessed: You deeply understand customer and partner needs and can separate stated requests from the underlying product requirements. You build strong intuition for what customers need to successfully deploy, operate, and scale autonomy.
  • Deeply Technical: You have the technical fluency to work closely with our engineering teams. You can translate complex technical capabilities and constraints into clear product strategy and actionable requirements.
  • Strategic: You can connect company strategy, customer needs, technical roadmaps, commercial milestones, and operational realities into a coherent product direction. You know which product decisions matter most and where to focus the organization.
  • Structured Thinker: You create clarity in ambiguous, complex systems. You surface the most important unanswered questions, define decision frameworks, and drive teams toward the right answers.
  • Commercially Oriented: You understand that product strategy must support commercialization. You can evaluate product investments based on customer impact, business value, deployment readiness, and long-term scalability.
  • Trusted Partner: Technical and operational leaders see you as a partner who improves focus and decision quality. You understand what is blocking teams, where clarity is missing, and how to make teams more effective without adding unnecessary process.
  • Influential Communicator: You can communicate product direction, technical tradeoffs, customer requirements, and strategic decisions clearly to executives, technical teams, operators, customers, and partners.
  • Self-Directed: You are proactive and comfortable operating in ambiguity. You do not wait for perfect information or a fully defined process. You identify what matters, build alignment, and move the work forward.
  • People Leader: You have experience building, leading, and developing strong product teams. You know how to set a high bar, create leverage, and help product managers operate with clarity, ownership, and business impact.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15+ years of experience in technology, product management, engineering, or related technical product leadership roles.
  • 10+ years of product management experience, including ownership of complex technical products.
  • 5+ years of experience leading product teams or product organizations.
  • Experience working closely with technical teams on complex products, platforms, infrastructure, AI/ML systems, robotics, autonomy, enterprise platforms, or similarly complex technical domains.
  • Demonstrated experience translating customer, partner, or market requirements into product strategy, technical requirements, and product roadmaps.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with autonomous vehicles, robotics, AI/ML, mapping, simulation, fleet operations, logistics, mobility, or other complex physical-world systems where safety is paramount.
  • Experience commercializing technical platforms through external partnerships, enterprise customers, or large-scale ecosystem partners.
  • Strong understanding of how technical product decisions affect scalability, deployment readiness, customer adoption, and business outcomes.
  • Experience operating in high-growth, fast-changing, or ambiguous environments.
  • Track record of building strong product teams and raising the quality of product strategy, roadmap planning, and execution.
