Head of Product & Engineering

Location: New York City, NY (In-Office)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $175,000 - $250,000 base, plus bonus & equity participation.

Position Overview

LoanBud is seeking a Head of Product & Engineering to lead our technology organization and play a central role in shaping the future of our platform.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who combines strong engineering leadership with deep product thinking. You will be responsible for building and scaling our technology platform, leading the engineering team, and ensuring our product delivers an exceptional user experience for borrowers, partners, and internal teams.

The ideal candidate understands that great technology is not just about code, it's about solving real problems, improving user journeys, and enabling business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Leadership & Strategy
  • Define and execute the company's technology strategy and roadmap
  • Align technology initiatives with business goals and product vision
  • Make architectural decisions that support scalability, performance, and reliability

Product & Customer Experience
  • Partner closely with leadership to shape product strategy and user experience
  • Ensure all technology decisions prioritize ease of use, speed, and customer experience
  • Translate business needs into high-quality product execution

Engineering Team Leadership
  • Build, lead, and scale a high-performing engineering team
  • Establish strong development processes, standards, and culture
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain top technical talent

Software Development & Delivery
  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle from concept to release
  • Ensure high-quality code, testing, and deployment practices
  • Maintain a strong focus on speed, execution, and delivery

Platform & Infrastructure
  • Design and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable systems
  • Oversee infrastructure, integrations, and data architecture
  • Ensure uptime, performance, and system resilience

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Product, Operations, Credit, and Sales teams
  • Translate business workflows into efficient technical solutions
  • Ensure alignment between technology and operational execution
