The role...

At Soho House, the Head of People will oversee the team that is responsible for the employees in our regional based properties and support function. As the Head of People, you will report to and work closely with our VP of Operations and the Managing Director. The individual in this role will serve as the directors' strategic partner, leading all aspects of P&D management, enhancing the people infrastructure to support the company's substantial growth.

This position also requires a specific focus on further developing the culture and values of the company. Therefore, a high EQ, a desire to foster a culture of collaboration, hard work and a passion for excellence is a must. The Head of People must be trusted by the employees and respected by leadership, with an ability to stimulate a strong innovative culture while ensuring Soho House & Co. teams are aligned to the strategic objectives of the business.

The role will require balancing between long-term investment in company culture along with short and long-term business goals. The Head of People must be a passionate leader who will inspire the current HR team and educate, advise and influence business leaders.

Main Duties...
  • Oversee the People strategy and lead a broad range of initiatives for current and new Houses and public restaurants while partnering closely with the VP of Operations and General Managers
  • Translate business plans into a strategic human resource strategy that is consistent with the vision, mission and strategic objectives of the company
  • Effectively lead key initiatives across departments including staffing, performance and talent management, compensation, benefits, employee engagement, diversity, recruitment, and training
  • Drive a culture that embodies Soho House's leadership principles, which promote and reward high performance throughout the organization
  • Ensure a consistent work culture that scales as Soho House grows and contribute to an infrastructure that can manage the changes
  • Build strong relationships throughout the operations and continue to improve the level of trust and transparency across all levels and functions
  • Cultivate a collaborative environment that encourages partnership among the team and across the broader HR organization
  • Effectively partner with business leaders and the North America People Director on organizational design, competency models, leadership development, employee engagement and retention, performance criteria and measurement, succession planning, talent reviews and change management
  • Provide coaching to business leaders, offering feedback and advice on employee and organizational issues
  • Lead a team of Miami based HR Managers and oversee team management including but not limited to recruitment, on-boarding, training, career development, performance management, and coaching.
  • Partner with the Recruiting team to optimize and scale the process for recruiting transformational talent, including team structure, candidate evaluation processes, interview best practices, candidate follow-up, recruiting KPIs, and continuous improvement to accelerate the growth strategy
  • Partner with Learning & Development to evolve development programs that prepare employees for more significant responsibilities as the company executes its growth strategy while ensuring the development of the next generation of leaders

Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in situations requiring change and evolution
  • Held a senior leadership role for an organisation or business of similar scale
  • Experience managing a team
  • Breadth of experience across the entire HR function
  • Fluency across a variety of HR disciplines, including organisational development, leadership and talent development, HR process design and HRIS, compensation management, HR administration, diversity and inclusion
  • Proven impact on a company's culture
  • Proven success as the "champion of the culture," facilitating excellent communication and employee engagement across a global and diverse organisation
  • Experience presenting concise, thoughtful, analytical presentations to leadership
  • Ideally has held an HR or Senior leadership role for a geographically dispersed workforce.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
  • Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
  • Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others.
  • Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds.
  • Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.

Soho House is a group of private members' clubs originally aimed at those in the arts, politics, and media. The original location is at 40 Greek Street, Soho, London. The company now operates clubs, hotels and venues around the world, and in 2015 changed from SOHO House Group to Soho House & Co. Membership is selective and members are drawn mainly from the media, arts and fashion industries. The company filed for an initial public offering in 2021, and went public in July 2021, trading under the name Membership Collective Group. The organisation will use the money raised to pay down debt and finance further expansion.
