Head of Human Resources

ZL Technologies is seeking a Head of HR, based in Milpitas CA. This leader will develop, lead, execute and coordinate the policies and activities, and manage the U.S. and international staff, of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization's mission and talent strategy. This lead reports directly to the CEO.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the HR department.
  • As a business partner of the Company's senior leadership, collaborate closely to understand the organization's goals and growth strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Work on performance management across the Company, including success measures/KPIs, tier-based compensation structures, performance-based variable comp elements, role-based competencies, and more.
  • Support employees in all employment-relevant matters, providing an open-door easy-to-contact resource for all employees, applicants, and supervisors. Such matters may include leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition and morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; apply this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
  • Develop and implement departmental budget. Oversee the HR team to conduct on-boarding, exit procedures, carry out background checks and employee eligibility verifications
  • Maintain policy and practice compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as best practice.
  • Perform other duties as required.


Required Skills/Abilities:

You will need:
  • 10-15+ years' experience in HR related roles and some experience in HR leadership.
  • Some experience of working in enterprise software businesses.
  • To be willing and able to work full-time at our HQ in Milpitas, CA.
  • Broad experience across the entire HR function spectrum.
  • Experience in business partner relationships with company leadership.
  • Solid experience in performance management, compensation metrics, human resource information system (HRIS) and talent management system.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Experience working with international teams including India
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
