At Sandvik and business area Mining, we're seeking an experienced, business-minded, and forward-thinking leader to take on the exciting responsibility of leading our HR & EHS function for North America. Leading a combined HR & EHS function, you drive people, compliance, safety and organizational effectiveness while contributing directly to business strategy and long-term success.

About the job

You translate Sandvik's global business and HR strategy into a clear HR and EHS agenda for Sales Area USA. With a strong business perspective, you create strategic clarity, enable change, build human capital, and ensure that HR and EHS services support both operational needs and long-term performance. You're a member of the Sales Area Management team and report to the Sales Area VP.

Job responsibilities

  • Develop HR strategies and measurable objectives aligned with the business strategy, global HR direction, and Sandvik's commitment to Zero Harm.


  • Coach and support managers in people management, performance management, employee engagement and change leadership.


  • Proactively lead change initiatives and help create engagement around the company's vision, strategy, objectives and values through effective communication and leadership support.


  • Drive approaches for attracting, retaining and developing the right people for current and future business needs.


  • Ensure compliance with HR and EHS policies, applicable legislation, Sandvik core values and the Code of Conduct, while promoting a strong and sustainable safety culture across the organization.


  • Build trusted partnerships with leaders, employee representatives and other key stakeholders, including labor union relations and collective bargaining activities where applicable.


  • Continuously improve HR service delivery by leveraging data, insights, best practices and global people processes to enhance organizational effectiveness and employee experience.


Location

This position is based in Atlanta, GA or Denver, Colorado. Domestic travel and some limited international travel are part of the job.

Your profile

You've built a strong foundation in HR and an understanding of how people, culture, compliance, and business performance connect. Working effectively in complex, matrixed organizations, you combine strategic thinking with practical execution and are comfortable partnering with senior leaders to support organizational success.

Your background includes

  • A bachelor's degree in HR or related business discipline.


  • Several years of experience working in Human Resources, preferably with industry exposure.


  • Strong business acumen, communication skills, and stakeholder management skills.


  • Proven leadership capability, including experience leading teams and coaching managers to build capability and drive performance.


  • Experience in HR reporting, data analysis, HR and EHS compliance, and the ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
