Full Job Description
About The Role

We're looking for a scrappy, data-driven growth marketer to own the full funnel: from building Nectir's brand in higher education to generating a qualified pipeline with the decision-makers who matter most.

You'll combine content marketing, account-based marketing (ABM), digital campaigns, and emerging AI search optimization (AEO) to drive one primary outcome: qualified meetings booked with senior higher education leaders. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution in a fast-moving, early-stage startup: someone who can build a category, not just fill one.

This role will report to our VP of Business Development and will work closely with our sales and customer success teams.

What You'll Do

Demand Generation & Pipeline

  • Own lead generation strategy across inbound and outbound channels, with qualified meetings booked as the primary KPI.
  • Build and execute account-based marketing (ABM) campaigns targeting strategic accounts in higher education.
  • Partner with Sales to create personalized outreach campaigns that accelerate target accounts through the funnel.
  • Design multi-channel campaigns combining email, LinkedIn, digital advertising, direct mail, webinars, executive dinners, and conference marketing.
  • Optimize website conversion, landing pages, paid campaigns, and nurture sequences for pipeline impact.
  • Continuously measure campaign performance and improve ROI.

Build Market Awareness

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns that position Nectir as the thought leader in AI for higher education.
  • Drive brand awareness through content marketing, social media, webinars, podcasts, PR, customer stories, conference marketing, and digital campaigns.
  • Amplify executive thought leadership across LinkedIn and industry channels.
  • Manage speaking opportunities at key higher education conferences and events.

Content & Customer Marketing

  • Produce compelling case studies, white papers, videos, research reports, implementation guides, and AI adoption stories.
  • Showcase customer success through webinars, events, podcasts, and executive interviews.
  • Develop messaging that resonates with Presidents, Provosts, CIOs, Vice Presidents of Academic Affairs, faculty leaders, and instructional technology teams.
  • Build a content strategy that establishes Nectir as the authoritative source for AI in higher education.

AI Search Optimization (AEO)

  • Develop and execute an Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) strategy to ensure Nectir content is surfaced and referenced by AI-powered platforms, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and emerging AI assistants.
  • Optimize content for both traditional search engines (SEO) and AI-powered answer engines (AEO), recognizing that buyers increasingly discover technology through conversational AI.
  • Monitor AI search trends and create content that increases Nectir's visibility, authority, and citation frequency across AI platforms.

Analytics & Operations

  • Own marketing metrics and reporting.
  • Build dashboards measuring awareness, engagement, pipeline, account engagement, AI search visibility, conversion rates, and revenue attribution.
  • Continuously test and optimize campaigns.

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves

  • 5+ years in enterprise B2B growth marketing or demand generation, with a track record of generating qualified pipeline.
  • Experience marketing to higher education: you understand how institutions buy technology and who the real decision-makers are.
  • Proven success building and executing account-based marketing (ABM) programs.
  • Strong written communication skills: you can write a cold email and a white paper.
  • Highly analytical; comfortable owning a dashboard and clearly explaining what's working and why.
  • Familiarity with Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and AI search visibility strategies.
  • Background in SEO, content marketing, and thought leadership programs.
  • Experience scaling marketing at a startup or high-growth technology company.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with category creation or launching a new product category.
  • Existing network within higher education.

Success Metrics

  • Qualified meetings booked with target accounts (Primary KPI).
  • Marketing-generated and marketing-influenced pipeline.
  • Account engagement across strategic ABM targets.
  • Growth in AI search visibility and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) performance.
  • Brand awareness and share of voice within higher education AI.
  • Website traffic, content engagement, and conversion rates.
  • Contribution to Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) growth.

Working at Nectir

We're a startup, which means the work moves fast, but the impact is real. You will not be a small cog in a big machine here, but the one building the machine itself.

This role is central to bringing our platform to institutions that are actively exploring how AI can responsibly support teaching, learning, and student success. As an early member of the marketing team, you will help shape how we engage with higher education leaders and define the marketing motion that will support the company's growth for years to come. Your work will directly influence how institutions adopt innovative technology and how our company scales its impact across higher education.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary
  • Comprehensive health coverage: medical, dental, and vision (for US-based roles only)
  • 401k with employer match (for US-based roles only)
  • Equity (stock options), so you share in what we're building
  • Flexible, remote-first work environment

The pay range for this role is:

162,000 - 198,000 USD per year (Remote, United States)
