Full Job Description

As the Head of Smart Factory Consulting USA, you will shape and lead the launch and expansion of TRUMPF Smart Factory Consulting in North America. With full responsibility for market development, commercial success, and P&L, you will define the strategic direction of the business and build a strong consulting organization that delivers measurable impact for customers and TRUMPF alike.

In this leadership role, you will combine entrepreneurial drive, market insight, and consulting expertise to establish TRUMPF as a trusted partner for smart factory transformation. Working closely with customers and internal stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in building the business, developing the team, and creating a sustainable platform for growth.


Duties & Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for project and client acquisition throughout the entire sales process, from lead generation to contract award, including qualifying and nurturing leads (e.g., from trade shows), expanding existing client relationships up to owner and executive level, preparing proposals, negotiating, and closing deals.

  • Lead the Factory Planning and Digitization Consulting teams, both professionally and disciplinarily, and develop your consultants through recruiting, coaching, and performance management.

  • Position the consulting portfolio in the North American market, adapt services and methods to local requirements, and drive their continuous development.

  • Ensure the quality and success of consulting projects, manage demanding customer engagements, and act as an escalation point and sparring partner for your team.

  • Represent TRUMPF Smart Factory Consulting externally at trade fairs, industry events, and customer meetings, and build a sustainable network within North American industry.

  • Work closely with the TRUMPF Group and headquarters in Germany, coordinating consulting activities with Sales, product divisions, and other experts.

  • High willingness to travel within North America.

  • 5-8 years of professional experience in customer-facing roles in industry; consulting experience is a plus, including proven experience in managing a business unit, leading teams, and business development.

  • Proven success in acquiring new customers and building or expanding customer relationships; an established network in the manufacturing industry is an advantage.

  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset and proven experience in P&L and operations management, with a solid understanding of sales, profitability, and capacity utilization management.

  • Knowledge of sheet metal processing, factory planning, production optimization, ERP, or MES/digitalization is an advantage.

  • Confident presence and strong communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to present effectively to C-suite executives.

  • A motivating and appreciative leadership style, with the ability to build a team from the ground up and guide it toward strong results.

  • Fluency in English; additional languages are welcome.


Education
  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering and/or Business Administration.


Pay Range: $116,390 to $157,590
