SUMMARY We are seeking a Head of Accounting to serve as the organization's senior accounting leader. As a key member of the Finance leadership team, this role partners regularly with the CEO, CFO, and business leaders across the organization to provide strategic financial guidance, strengthen internal controls, and ensure the integrity of the company's financial operations. This position reports directly to the SVP of Finance. WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Serve as trusted advisor to executive leadership on accounting, compliance, and financial reporting matters.
  • Drive automation, system enhancements, and process improvements to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization.
  • Lead accounting operations across a portfolio of sports, entertainment, hospitality, media, and emerging business ventures.
  • Present financial results, accounting matters, and key business insights to executive leadership.
  • Support new business initiatives, acquisitions, and growth opportunities by providing accounting and financial reporting guidance.
Financial Reporting & Analysis - Closing Books:
  • Lead and optimize the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple business entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
  • Establish scalable processes, controls, and reporting frameworks to support organizational growth.
Team Leadership & Department Management:
  • Supervise, hire, and mentor accounting and finance staff.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development for accounting team members while fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Establish clear goals, accountability measures, and succession planning initiatives.
Internal Controls & Audit Management:
  • Oversee internal controls, risk management, and external audit activities (including NBA and WNBA), ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Masters preferred
  • CPA required
  • Minimum of 10+ years' progressive experience in public accounting and/or working in a Finance or Accounting department
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (NetSuite a plus)
  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Experience managing audits and multi-entity accounting environments
  • Demonstrated success building scalable accounting processes and controls
  • Experience managing and developing accounting professionals

COMPENSATION $160,000 - $190,000 base salary Full-time employees are eligible for a robust slate of total rewards, including:
