Job Summary:

Primary job position: The HR Systems Workday Security Administration Analyst is responsible for managing, maintaining, and administering security controls and role provisioning within the Workday platform. This role serves as the subject matter expert for Workday Security and is expected to stay current on security-related enhancements, releases, controls, and best practices.

Position expectations:
Provides expert-level design, configuration, and technical leadership for HR systems security and multiple functional areas. Leads complex security-related projects, system enhancements, testing, deployment, and reporting efforts. Serves as a strategic advisor on Workday capabilities, governance, compliance, and best practices to support a secure, scalable, and well-controlled HR technology environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive strategic HR technology initiatives and lead cross-functional project teams.
  • Design and develop advanced configurations, integrations (Workday Studio, APIs), and custom reports.
  • Lead system architecture decisions and guide team members on technical solutions.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of system enhancements, including testing and deployment.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for HR technology strategy and governance.
  • Oversee release management and evaluate new features for adoption.
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and data integrity standards.
  • Mentor junior analysts and provide technical leadership.
  • Ensure data integrity, system compliance, and adherence to established HR technology security controls.
  • Coordinate and work with the team and functional business owners through various annual processes as assigned, including, but not limited to, Bi-annual Workday releases, end-of-year processes, and cyclical events such as Open Enrollment and performance management.
  • Works with Information Security and Internal/External audit groups to contribute to various audits, audit remediation, and security control updates and changes as needed.
  • Act as the central point of control for security updates and changes required to support integrations, reporting, functional configuration, and other system-related updates and deployments.
  • Develop and maintain security and system processes, SOPs, and related documentation; communicate process and procedure updates to the HR Systems team and business partners as needed.
  • Maintain and continuously improve internal monitoring, change control, and proactive security review processes to support security controls, enforce separation of duties, and maintain a secure and compliant enterprise environment.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Workday certification strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in HR systems configuration and administration or a comparable business/technology discipline.
  • Expertise in Workday modules, reporting tools, and integration technologies.
  • Experience leading complex projects and mentoring team members.
  • Familiarity with Agile and project management certifications (PMP a plus).
  • 5+ years of experience in Workday system security, administration, and enterprise controls/processes.
