Full Job Description
You will join a well-established, cross-functional hardware team based in Victoria, BC, responsible for designing and delivering advanced power metering products used worldwide in industrial and utility environments.

This team brings together electrical, mechanical, testing, and compliance expertise to build products that operate reliably in complex, high-voltage environments. Team members collaborate closely, support each other's growth, and take pride in delivering high-quality products with real-world impact.

In this role, you will work on electrical design, validation, and product development activities, contributing to both new product introduction and ongoing improvements to products already in market.

The role requires a hands-on, end-to-end mindset: from translating system architecture into schematics, to testing prototypes, to supporting manufacturing and resolving real-world product issues.

What you'll be doing
  • Design electrical schematics for complex embedded hardware systems operating in high-voltage environments
  • Collaborate on PCB layout and support design iterations based on testing results
  • Perform hardware validation activities (prototype, PCBA, product-level testing)
  • Design with safety, robustness, and compliance in mind (EMC, industrial standards)
  • Contribute to product industrialization, including defining test strategies and supporting manufacturing readiness
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (industrialization, supply chain, quality) to resolve product and production-related challenges
  • Support continuous engineering efforts, including component substitutions, product improvements, and risk mitigation

What you bring
  • ~5+ years of experience in hardware / electrical design
  • Experience contributing to the development of real, shipped hardware products (beyond prototypes)
  • Strong foundation in schematic design, with exposure to PCB design and layout
  • Hands-on experience with hardware testing and validation
  • Experience working within engineering constraints (e.g. safety, standards, reliability considerations)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
  • A proactive, self-driven mindset with curiosity to learn and take ownership

You might also have
  • Experience with EMC / EMI compliance and regulated product environments
  • Exposure to high-voltage systems or power electronics
  • Knowledge of 3-phase AC systems
  • Experience with power supply design (e.g. SMPS)
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or product industrialization
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum workflows

We recognize that skills and competencies can be developed through a variety of experiences, both professional and personal. Even if you don't meet every single requirement listed, we still encourage you to apply. Your unique background and perspective could be exactly what we're looking for.
