Overview

• Department: Physical Therapist

• Schedule: Day shift- with rotating holidays and weekends as per business needs

• Facility: St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital

• Location: Chicago, IL 60622

**Certified Hand Therapist (CHT)- required**

Responsibilities

Evaluate and conduct evidence-based treatment of individuals with pathological upper quarter (hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder girdle, cervical area or multiple joints) conditions resulting from trauma, diseases, congenital or acquired deformity. Also, use specialized skills to promote goals of prevention of dysfunction, restoration of function and/or reversal of the progression of pathology in order to enhance quality of movement and daily living skills for individuals with upper quarter disease or injury. Develop and progress plan of care to meet the needs of the individuals served to assist in returning them to their prior level of function.The incumbent must be a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) from an accredited Hand Therapy Certification Commission and must successfully pass the exam, and become certified before onboarding.

The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to each individual patient following determination of dysfunction and musculoskeletal status. They must have the skills to evaluate and treat an upper extremity patient seeking care for repetitive strain, traumatic injury, neurological dysfunction and post-surgical rehabilitation. The staff member must maintain good rapport and working relationship with physicians in the community specializing in upper extremity medical care.

Performs responsibilities in accordance with department and Hospital Policies, state, federal and regulatory requirements: Functions according to professional practice as an integral member of the interdisciplinary care team.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Bachelor or Master Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy.

2. Current state Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy certification/license.

3. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate.

4. Current state license.

5. Current Hand Therapist Certification.
