The Group Operations Leader is responsible for the operational performance, financial outcomes, and leadership development across the clinic network of Rancho Family Medical Group. This role provides strategic and operational oversight for a portfolio of 14 primary care clinics supporting approximately 60 primary care providers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while achieving operational, financial, and value-based care objectives.

The Group Operations Leader reports to the Vice President of Operations and serves as the senior operational leader for clinic performance. The role oversees Operations Managers and Office Managers and works in a highly matrixed partnership with the Chief Medical Officer, medical directors, medical management teams, and corporate departments.

This position carries P&L accountability for clinic operations, responsibility for performance improvement, and leadership of new clinic launches and operational initiatives.

  • Directly lead Operations Managers and oversee the performance of Office Managers and clinic staff.
  • Establish operational standards and ensure consistent execution across all clinic locations.
  • Maintain full operational P&L accountability for assigned clinic operations.
  • Monitor financial performance including:
  • Revenue and visit volumes
  • Provider productivity
  • Value-based performance
  • Expense management
  • Identify operational opportunities to improve financial performance while maintaining quality of care.


  • Partner with finance leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and performance reviews.
  • Own the performance management framework for clinics, including operational KPIs and scorecards.
  • Monitor and improve performance metrics such as:
  • Patient access
  • Visit volumes
  • Provider productivity
  • Patient experience
  • Risk adjustment performance
  • Quality metrics
  • Implement process improvements to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Present clinic performance updates and improvement plans to executive leadership.
  • Partner closely with the Chief Medical Officer, Medical Directors, and provider leadership to support clinic performance.
  • Ensure strong operational support for physicians and advanced practice providers.
  • Lead initiatives that improve provider experience, clinical workflow, and productivity.
  • Facilitate communication between operational teams and clinical leadership.

Minimum Education required:
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, or related field.


  • Master's degree (MBA, MHA, MPH)preferred.

Minimum Experience Required:
  • 7+years of healthcare operations leadership experience.
  • Multi-site clinic management experience.
  • Experience managing clinic P&L performance.
  • Proven ability to lead operational improvement initiatives.
  • Strong leadership and team development experience.
  • Experience in value-based care environments (Medicare Advantage, ACO, risk-based contracts) preferred.
  • Experience managing large physician networks or MSO-supported practices preferred.
