What You Do

Will drive continuous improvement initiatives centered around stamping die maintenance efficiency and reliability in support of stamping line goals and objectives and as such, will help educate team members at all levels of the organization, and contractors, on the why and importance of such initiatives.

As a part of the above, and on an ongoing basis will also:

• Establish strong team member relations, at all levels and provide support for people development, coaching, and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion
• Work closely with advisors from Mazda and Toyota
• Support Assistant Managers with strategies and action plans to improve KPI’s by use of Floor Management Systems
• Create and support standardized work in alignment with continuous improvement objectives
• Provide supervision to stamping die maintenance team leaders and team members in overall strategies based on company policy management and priorities
• Lead and coach die maintenance team to achieve hourly/daily objectives
• Provide leadership to tool and die team leadersand team members in overall strategies based on company policy management and priorities
• Share information and communicate goals with die maintenance team
• Ensure alignment of die maintenance activities to support business plan objectives
• Support preparation of preventative maintenance system and ensure compliance and effectiveness of die maintenance asset management, both die tooling and shop equipment
• Support new model development activities and new tooling/equipment introduction
• Support introduction of new stamping die and press line technologies when applicable
• Manage die maintenance spare parts and optimize inventory levels
• Lead problem solving and continuous improvement activity related to stamping die tooling in support of quality issues, die failures, and press line downtime
• Lead evaluation, analysis, and implementation of die maintenance cost reduction activities
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the department
• Be available to work outside of normal work schedule, including but not limited to weekends, holidays, shutdowns, and travel as needed (domestically and internationally)

What You Bring

• High School Diploma or GED
• One year of experience in manufacturing, preferably automotive body weld/stamping

• Ability to manage in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude

• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products

What Will Set You Apart

• Three years’ leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably automotive body weld/stamping
• Skilled at troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, automation and robotic systems
• Stamping line technical/systems experience
• Knowledge of high-volume stamping press machines, overhead cranes, scrap collection, PLC’s, and transfer robot systems
