Position Summary...
The Group Director, eCommerce Strategy & Governance is responsible for enabling the successful execution of Walmart U.S. eCommerce's strategic priorities through enterprise planning, governance, portfolio management, and cross-functional leadership. This role partners closely with the eCommerce Leadership Team and key enterprise stakeholders to translate strategy into actionable roadmaps, operating plans, and measurable business outcomes.

Leading a centralized Strategy & Governance function, this leader establishes the operating rhythms, governance frameworks, and program management practices that drive alignment, prioritization, and execution across a portfolio of high-impact initiatives. The role oversees strategic planning, executive governance, portfolio health, resource coordination, and organizational change while ensuring initiatives remain aligned with enterprise priorities and deliver meaningful customer and business value.

Success in this role requires exceptional strategic thinking, executive communication, and the ability to influence across a highly matrixed organization. The ideal candidate builds trusted partnerships throughout the eCommerce ecosystem and Walmart U.S. enterprise functions, leveraging a deep understanding of organizational priorities, interdependencies, and ways of working to accelerate decision-making, remove barriers, and drive enterprise execution.

What you'll do...
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with eCommerce leadership to develop and execute strategic roadmaps aligned with Walmart U.S. and enterprise priorities.
  • Lead governance, portfolio management, and operating mechanisms that enable effective strategy execution and organizational alignment.
  • Drive prioritization, resource planning, and cross-functional coordination across multiple strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee executive governance forums, strategic planning sessions, business reviews, and performance reporting.
  • Lead high-impact programs and rapid-response strategic initiatives while managing dependencies, risks, and implementation plans.
  • Develop executive-level business cases, recommendations, and communications to support informed decision-making.
  • Build strong partnerships across Product, Technology, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Merchandising, and other enterprise functions to influence outcomes and deliver integrated solutions.
  • Monitor strategic KPIs, identify opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement in governance and ways of working.
  • Build and develop a high-performing team while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and operational excellence.

What You'll Bring
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise strategy, transformation, business operations, or PMO functions within a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment across a variety of stakeholders without direct authority.

  • Exceptional executive communication, strategic planning, and analytical problem-solving skills.

The annual salary range for this position is $160,000.00 - $320,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
