DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Computer Systems Architect to act as the computer infrastructure lead within a program developing and fielding a new ground-based radar performing Space Domain Awareness (SDA) missions. As the computer infrastructure lead, you will be a key member of the senior technical team and be responsible for the computer system architecture of multiple High-Performance Computing environments supporting mission execution, software development, and long-term sustainment of the radar system. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundational knowledge of computer systems and be able to collaboratively apply systems engineering principles to successfully define and document the computer system architecture for the program.
Job Duties Include:
- Collaboratively lead a team to define and document the programs computer system architecture
- Determine systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system security
- Coordinates the design of compute subsystems and integration of the total system
- Identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies
- Develop and recommend corrective actions
- Interface and collaboration with system administrators, computer system architects, database managers, software developers, and cybersecurity professionals to achieve objectives
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.
- 12 years with a Bachelors in Science, 10 years with a Masters in Science degree, and 8 years with the PHD
- Experience with requirements decomposition and derivation of computer system hardware component level specifications
- Experience with configuring and provisioning RedHat Linux
- Experience with HPE High-Performance Computing platforms
- Experience with GPGPU Multi-Node parallel processing IT environments
- Familiar with computer virtualization and SW containerization
- VMware product experience (i.e., vCenter, vSphere, NSX, Tanzu, Avi Load Balancer)
- Experience with network design, configuration, and management
- Familiar with a broad set of commercial hardware system components (i.e., servers, switches, routers, network-attached storage)
- Familiar with cybersecurity requirements
- Experience with Atlassian tool sets (JIRA, Confluence)
- Familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering principles
- Ability to travel up to 10% domestically
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- RedHat Certified (System Admin or Engineer)
- CompTIA Security + Certification
- CompTIA Network + Certification
- VMware Data Center Certification
- VMware Network Virtualization Certification
- Track record of collaborating with SW discipline leads to achieve success
- Experience working within CAMEO
- Experience with Engineering Drawings and Electronic Bill of Materials that drive procurement demands
Primary Level Salary Range: $161,000.00 - $241,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
