Job Description Summary
The Lean Leader serves as a strategic partner to the Plant Leadership team, focused on defining and driving the plant vision, developing high-performing lean leadership talent, and executing plant roadmaps. This role is instrumental in ensuring operational alignment with Gas Value Stream target conditions, supporting the capacity build-out of the Greenville factory, and fostering an uncompromising culture of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) excellence.

Job Description
  • Lean Leadership Development:Identify, coach, and develop lean talent to build a pipeline of leaders who prioritize SQDC as the foundation of continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Roadmap Alignment:Drive and own the plant’s lean roadmap, ensuring all initiatives are aligned with Gas Value Stream target conditions for optimized flow and performance.
  • Capacity Expansion Support:Provide direct lean support for the Greenville factory capacity build-out, utilizing lean layout and flow principles to ensure efficient ramp-up. Driving transformational change through the use of automation and digital to help enable.
  • Operational Excellence (SQDC):Lead cross-functional kaizen events and Action Work Outs (AWOs) to drive measurable improvements:
    • Safety: Eliminate hazards and promote proactive safety behaviors.
    • Quality: Reduce variation and implement error-proofing to achieve "first-time right" metrics.
    • Delivery & Inventory: Optimize pull systems and flow to significantly reduce lead times and excess inventory.
    • Productivity & Cost: Drive labor productivity through waste elimination and optimize product costs by simplifying processes and improving throughput.
  • Gemba & Problem Solving:Establish a rigorous Gemba walk methodology that empowers teams to identify and resolve impediments to SQDC performance in real-time.
  • Compliance:Maintain a culture where EHS is the top priority. Immediately report incidents, warn others of non-compliance, and enforce "stop-work" authority whenever life or serious injury risks are present.
III. Responsibility
  • Develop organizational lean capability through targeted coaching centered on SQDC results.
  • Execute the plant-wide lean strategy to support Gas Value Stream throughput and cost-competitiveness.
  • Provide technical and operational support for the Greenville capacity expansion.
  • Maintain process rigor to ensure sustained improvements in safety, quality, delivery, labor productivity, and product cost.
IV. Authority
  • Lead lean implementation across the plant to drive cross-functional results.
  • Mentor and develop Lean Facilitators and site leadership in SQDC-focused methodologies.
  • Direct authority to prioritize projects that align with the Gas Value Stream, capacity growth, and SQDC objectives.
V. Qualifications / Requirements
  • Education:Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Experience:Minimum 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, manufacturing leadership, or lean deployment with a proven track record of improving SQDC metrics.
  • Competencies:Demonstrated ability to motivate high-involvement teams toward shared safety and operational goals. Strong communication skills; effective at pitching and coaching lean strategy and operational improvements to business leadership. Change agent with credibility and influence to drive shifts in culture and operational standards.
VI. Desired Characteristics
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or MBA
  • Deep knowledge of manufacturing management disciplines (Production/Inventory Control, Quality Management Systems, and Standard Cost systems, Daily Management).
  • Hands-on experience with “Moonshine” shop methodologies and implementing pull systems to drive labor productivity and product cost reductions.

 

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $144,000.00 and $240,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
