Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of community college education in electrical or instrumentation disciplines
• Completion of Meter Technician Training Course and necessary apprenticeship
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of diverse meter communication methods including cellular, Fibre, TCP IP, RS232, and Radio
• Familiarity with the Utility's revenue metering system
• Valid class G driver's license for field work
• Collaborative team player with a positive attitude

Responsibilities

• Install, remove, and verify polyphase and single-phase meters
• Perform meter calibrations, repairs, and adjustments
• Conduct power factor analysis and verify cross-readings
• Respond to customer requests regarding metering layouts
• Complete documentation and update terminal inputs as required
• Check customer voltage and install current and voltage recorders as needed
• Assist with load surveys, including removal of tapes and servicing faulty recorders
• Investigate instances of power diversion and carry out transformer checks
