Position Overview & Responsibilities: The ideal Grants & Subaward Manager candidate has deep experience in federal grants management, especially managing subawards to universities, and, in addition, has attention to detail, excellent judgment, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to navigate multiple priorities under tight timelines. In this position, the right candidate will successfully manage cradle-to-grave grant administration activities including but not limited to:
- Grant management with the Government sponsor, including post-award administration, budget monitoring and reporting, modifications, audit readiness and document management, risk assessment and compliance monitoring, award closeout.
- Subawardee management including pre-award planning (solicitation development, evaluations, subaward negotiations), performance monitoring and administration (award flow-down compliance, performance monitoring and reporting, modifications/changes, budget monitoring and invoice review & approval, corrective action planning).
- Stakeholder engagement serving as the primary POC for Government Sponsors, program managers, and internal stakeholders, participating in internal and external programmatic meetings, timely and professional communication and issue resolution.
- Use contract and financial systems (e.g., SharePoint, enterprise workflows, grant/contract software tools).
- Provide backup, training, or mentorship to staff involved in contract-related work when needed.
This position is contingent upon contract award, with performance anticipated to begin on or about September 01st, 2026Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Business, Grants Management, Public Administration, or related field. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- 5+ years of federal contracting or contract management experience, including cradle-to-grave responsibilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Uniform Guidance, common practices and policies for U.S. Universities and functional knowledge of FAR/DFARS/agency supplements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interface professionally with government and non-profit stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with contract /grant management software.
- Ability to receive and implement guidance and instruction while also able to suggest improvements and work independently as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience supporting national security, intelligence community, or classified programs.
- Experience in a non-profit environment.
Security: - Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Ability to obtain a clearance.
Primary Work Location: Work will be performed in Arlington, VA, with the option for remote work in accordance with the Hybrid Work & Telecommuting Policy and based on mission requirements.
Salary Range: $153,000 - $163,000 annually
