WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAYAs a Grants Management Specialist (Policy), you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:
- Providing guidance on grant administration and financial management policies to support consistent application of Federal and agency requirements.
- Analyzing grant issues and preparing policy guidance and correspondence related to Federal grant requirements.
- Analyzing and improving grants management processes, procedures, and systems to enhance efficiency, consistency, and compliance.
- Providing training and technical assistance on grants policies and procedures through presentations, briefings, and instructional materials.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: You must have one year of specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:
GS-12:- Interpreting and applying grant management policies, regulations, and procedures to support program operations and ensure consistent implementation of agency requirements;
- Preparing policy analyses, memoranda, and guidance related to grants management and interpreting Federal requirements to resolve program and operational issues;
- Analyzing policy exception requests, evaluating supporting documentation, and developing recommendations for management consideration; and
- Developing briefing materials and coordinating with program, grants management, and legal staff to support grants policy activities and management decisions.
GS-13:- Interpreting and applying grant administration and financial management policies and regulations.
- Preparing policy analyses and guidance documents to address grants management issues and interpret Federal requirements.
- Evaluating grants management processes and procedures to support operational efficiency and consistent policy implementation.
- Providing training and technical assistance on grants policies and procedures and developing related instructional materials.

If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
