Job Posting Information
The Grant Coordinator leads grant development and management efforts by researching funding opportunities, preparing competitive grant applications, ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements while assisting departments in securing and administering critical funding. This position plays a vital role in maximizing external funding resources that strengthen County programs and services.

The Grant Coordinator is responsible for researching, developing, writing, and coordinating competitive grant applications that support County programs, services, and strategic initiatives. Working closely with County departments, elected officials, community organizations, and regional partners, this position secures funding from federal, state, local, and private sources. In addition to preparing grant proposals, the Grant Coordinator supports grant administration, compliance, reporting, and performance measurement to ensure awarded funds are managed in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and grant requirements.

What You'll Do
  • Research, identify, and pursue grant opportunities that align with County priorities and departmental needs.
  • Develop, write, and coordinate competitive grant applications, narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with County departments to assess funding needs and develop grant strategies.
  • Lead grant administration activities, including compliance monitoring, reporting, reimbursement requests, and grant closeout.
  • Prepare financial and programmatic reports and assist with grant audits.
  • Develop project goals, objectives, timelines, performance measures, and evaluation plans.
  • Monitor grant performance and ensure reporting requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Interpret federal, state, and local grant regulations, including Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), as applicable.
  • Maintain complete grant files and supporting documentation.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with funding agencies, elected officials, community organizations, educational institutions, lobbyists, and regional partners.
  • Assist in developing long-range grant funding strategies and grant-related policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical assistance and training for County staff regarding grant opportunities and grant management.
  • Represent Lancaster County at meetings, conferences, and grant-related workshops.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring
  • Knowledge of grant writing, grant administration, and governmental accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of federal grant regulations, including Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200).
  • Experience preparing grant budgets and financial and programmatic reports.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and record-keeping skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, editing, research, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize competing deadlines, and work independently.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with County departments, funding agencies, community organizations, and external partners.
  • Experience writing successful federal and state grant applications is preferred.
  • Experience working in county or municipal government is preferred.


Minimum Qualifications/Necessary Special Requirements
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in public or business administration or accounting plus two years of experience in grant management and accounting or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities, and skills.
