Full Job Description
The Government and Stakeholder Relations Manager will research and execute comprehensive policy, political, regulatory and stakeholder strategies at the local and state level that support and promote the mission and broad objectives of Mosaic and the phosphate industry. This person will identify, analyze and anticipate emerging public policy issues and trends; develop and execute government advocacy plans before a wide variety of external audiences to favorably position Mosaic in relation to emerging issues and enhance trust and goodwill towards the company and the phosphate sector. At the same time, this person will develop, direct and execute comprehensive policy and strategy related to stakeholder outreach and engagement through interaction and communication with critical organizations and communities; and in collaboration with colleagues at all levels of the business who have a vested interest in the success of strategic outcomes. On a daily basis this person will mitigate important issues with a variety of stakeholders. What will you do? • Government Relations and Political Plans - Identify, evaluate and understand emerging local and state issues that impact Mosaic and engage strategically in public policy debate and advocacy. Proactively develop and advance Mosaic's position to a wide range of stakeholders.. Conduct regular, targeted outreach to key contacts including the development of relationships with carefully selected community and non-profit organizations that have an impact. Serve as advisor to industry and trade organizations as needed and play an integral role in the political strategy and activities of the company at the state level. Foster and cultivate new and existing relationships that benefit and increase goodwill toward the company on the local and state level. • Partnering with communications and our local public affairs teams assist with the execution of Mosaic's stakeholder engagement strategy - Identify, assess and understand opportunities and challenges related to the advancement of Mosaic's license to operate. Develop and activate internal government relations reports and plans to engage leaders on key issues and strategies. • Work with the Mosaic's Public Affairs team to develop and execute broad corporate strategies for influencing favorable perceptions with the general public and key constituents in the company's core operating areas. Manage issues affecting multiple functional groups, which will include collaborating with and providing strategic public affairs counsel to leadership, developing multi-disciplinary public affairs and stakeholder engagement plans, and ensuring consistency and synchronicity in communications, government relations, stakeholder outreach and community relations. Work with members of the global Public Affairs team to identify significant policy trends and issues and help craft and deliver the Mosaic story in ways that increase support for operations and maintain license to operate. Research, develop and create internal and external communications with a focus on building a greater understanding among non-technical audiences who are integral to Mosaic's continued operations in Florida. Engage in special projects as required. • Developing, planning, coaching and managing 2+ direct reports to meet overall goals aligned to global Public Affairs and company priorities.
