JOB TITLE

Global Trade Compliance Assistant Manager

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Global Trade Assistant Manager (FTA) will assist in leading the movement of shipments through the HMGMA supply chain by providing accurate documentation in compliance with US Free Trade Agreements (USMCA / KORUS) requirements. Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment and delivery of imported, exported, and domestic transported goods. Communicates effectively with vendors, US customs broker, freight forwarder, and transportation carriers to ensure efficient movement of goods across borders.

[General Summary]
• Serve as one of the company's Free Trade Act subject matter experts and assist in ensuring HMGMA's compliance of U.S. CBP Free Trade Act: USMCA / USKOR
• The FTA Assistant Manager will oversee all aspects of FTA operations and compliance of applicable business rules, regulations etc. related to the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) operations.
• Assist management in creating presentations for company FTA training as well as monthly training for the Global Trade Department.
• Coordinate ocean/air/inland transportation from point of import to point of sale/export.
• Arrange expedited transportation (air, trucking) to support and meet HMGMA production plan.
• Support and generate cost saving initiatives for logistics process.
• Support and execute the overall global trade strategies of HMGMA.
• Provide internal HMGMA departments with professional advice as necessary.
• Improve work procedures and processes in order to increase work efficiency.
• Meet all other work requirements as assigned.
• Perform special projects or other duties as assigned that occur from time to time
• Actively communicate with HQ to ensure clear and consistent decisions

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

Required:
• Bachelor's degree
• Extensive knowledge and experience of the US Free Trade Act: USMCA / USKOR management is mandatory
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
• 7+ Years of Experience in FTA
• 5+ Years of Supervisory Experience
• Direct experience with import and export shipping.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products or equivalent applications
• Deep understanding of external market and current trends
• Experiences with customs clearance/transportation required.

Preferred:
• Job related experience in automotive or related industry.
• 4+ Years of Freight Forwarding Experience
• Extensive experience working in procurement department in a related field.
• Domestic / International travel required.

Language Proficiency:
Strong command of the English language (written and spoken) is essential for safety, communication, documentation, and collaboration across the organization.

Physical Demands
While in Office:
This position is primarily sedentary and requires working at a desk and computer for extended periods. Responsibilities may include:
• Occasional lifting of office supplies (up to 15 pounds)
• Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and handling documents
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk within the office environment as needed
When in Production Area (if applicable):
• Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended durations
• Repeated lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of materials and products (up to 25-30 pounds)
• Manual dexterity for handling power tools, machinery, or production equipment
• Working in environments that may be noisy, hot, or require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Ability to climb ladders or stairs and operate equipment safely and effectively
• Capability to learn and work on multiple production processes, as required
• Adequate visual and auditory abilities to identify safety hazards and communicate clearly
• Consistent and punctual attendance
• Ability to collaborate and perform effectively in a team-oriented environment
