JOB SUMMARY:

The Global Total Rewards Specialist (GTRS) reports to the Sr. Manager of Global Total Rewards. The (GTRS) primary purpose is to administer CARE-USA's benefits programs and ensure adherence to all policies and procedures. He/she will assist in the development and implement all benefits programs. The benefits programs include: medical insurance, dental insurance, international medical evacuations, business traveler accident insurance, life insurance, retirement savings plan, retiree benefits, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, health and dependent care spending accounts, employee assistance program, short and long term disability programs, paid time off program, worker's compensation
and physicals. He/she will assist /administer compensation policies/practices such as merit increases and job evaluations. The (GTRS) will also use his/her knowledge to provide support to US based and international staff as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Benefits Management
  • Plan Implementation and Administration. Implement and administer all approved health and welfare plans for active employees and retirees.
  • Assist with Retirement Savings Plan Audits, Merit, Compensation and Relocation.
  • Conduct and design the annual open enrollment process.
  • Resolve eligibility and claims discrepancies and disputes with carriers.
  • Make payment arrangements for emergency medical evacuations.
  • Assist with 5500 tax filings.
  • Prepare OSHA reports and update COBRA and HIPAA forms.
    Review and edit all Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs).
  • Train and advise the HR/Benefits Systems Administrator, interns and work-study students on processes, procedures
    and all database systems.
  • Interact with attorneys, consultants and vendors to monitor compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws including ERISA, COBRA, OSHA and IRS. Coordinates plan renewals and Requests for Proposals (RFP).
  • Manage company leave programs including tracking employee leaves, processing Family and Medical Leaves (FMLA), short-term and long-term disability claims and
    answering employee questions related to leaves.
  • Makes recommendations and develops employer responses; interprets human resources policies and procedures with regards to benefits, paid and unpaid time off options for employees.


Compensation Management
  • Maintains current/historical job classification/audit records gradings for jobs that have been evaluated. Grade jobs and evaluate job descriptions.
  • Assist with the administration of annual merit process.
  • Conducts annual salary survey and/or develops/implement salary surveys as appropriate; conducts telephone surveys as appropriate; summarizes and maintains
    databases.
  • Publish annual total rewards statements and maintain updated salary information using HRIS system.
  • Complete reporting on compensation internal analysis.
  • Conduct periodic audits and prepare reports.
  • Conduct salary and labor market research to define benchmarks.


Communications/Vendor Management
  • Facilitate employee education surrounding company benefit programs.
  • Update and maintain benefits brochures and materials. Create and distribute annual and on-going communications.
  • Make formal, informal and ad-hoc benefits presentations to active staff.
  • Coordinate employee events such as on-site vendor visits, information meetings, health fair and 401K enrollment meetings.
  • Create communications that improves employee's engagement.
  • Apply effective communication strategies on benefits and perks at CARE to ensure all staff are informed.
  • Coordinate wellness funding across U.S. and international programs to ensure equitable access and alignment with CARE's well-being strategy.
  • Work as a liaison with consultants and vendors to design and maintain benefits programs year to year.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of benefit programs and recommend modifications.
  • Assist to ensure vendors develop appropriate programs for CARE.
  • Oversee compliance activities for COBRA, life insurance and related benefit programs by managing vendor coordination, tracking regulatory requirements, and ensuring timely completion of all compliance actions.


Workers Compensation
  • Manage workers compensation programs by implementing best practices.
  • Responsible for updating all forms, policies, and procedures.
  • Facilitate training employees and management about workers compensation, disability, rehabilitation procedures and policies.
  • Prepare and file all required reports, records, and forms.
  • Communicates with legal counsel where appropriate for litigated filings.
