Description & RequirementsThe Player & Quality Insights (PQI) team helps deliver high-quality player experiences by powering the environments where experiences are tested, validated, and improved through ongoing player engagement. As the Global Lab Lead, you will lead the technical strategy and operations for EA's global Playtest Lab ecosystem, ensuring our labs are scalable, secure, and optimized to support player insights across a global portfolio.
Reporting to the Senior Software Engineer, you will partner with PX Research, Engineering, and Operations teams to standardize lab infrastructure, improve workflows, and evolve the technology that powers player testing and research. This role combines technical leadership, operational execution, and global collaboration to help teams move faster and deliver better player experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Implement global hardware standards to ensure consistency, scalability, and cost efficiency across all lab locations.
- You own automated imaging and deployment processes to improve provisioning, reduce manual effort, and improve reliability.
- Lead configuration and ongoing maintenance of the Lab software
- Ensure lab environments meet corporate security standards and compliance requirements, proactively identifying and mitigating risk.
- You oversee lab network architecture, performance, and stability in partnership with infrastructure teams.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive, up-to-date documentation for processes, standards, and escalation paths.
- You are the primary escalation point for critical (P1/P2) incidents, driving swift resolution and root cause analysis.
- Manage global hardware lifecycle processes, including repair, replacement, and vendor coordination.
Qualifications:
- 5-7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, lab operations, endpoint engineering, or related technical environments
- Experience leading global or multi-site technical operations
- Expertise in hardware lifecycle management and standardization
- Hands-on experience with OS imaging, deployment automation tools, and endpoint management platforms
- Experience with enterprise networking principles and lab network environments
Pay Transparency - North AmericaCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$122,300 - $170,700 CAD
