What this job involves:As Senior Director of Sustainable Operations, you will lead a transformative global sustainability program for one of JLL's high-profile clients. Acting as an embedded extension of their in-house Sustainability Team, you will drive end-to-end sustainability solutions across the real estate lifecycle-from site selection to decommissioning. This role combines strategic leadership with operational excellence, overseeing a global team of approximately 35 sustainability professionals across AMER, EMEA, and APAC regions. You will be responsible for P&L management, cross-functional collaboration, and delivering measurable sustainability outcomes that advance our client's corporate goals while showcasing JLL's full suite of sustainability services. This is a unique opportunity to shape sustainability strategy at scale while developing a world-class team of practitioners.
What your day-to-day will look like:- Develop and execute multi-faceted global sustainability strategies with accountability across the client's entire real estate portfolio lifecycle
- Lead a geographically dispersed team of 35+ sustainability professionals, providing direction, mentorship, and development opportunities
- Partner directly with client sustainability teams and internal stakeholders to drive program delivery, exceed performance targets, and identify growth opportunities
- Own P&L responsibility with demonstrated financial acumen in cost control, revenue forecasting, and key business metrics
- Collaborate cross-functionally with JLL service lines (technology, finance, projects, IFM, consultants, procurement) to integrate sustainability into all phases of real estate operations
- Design and implement a global platform delivery model aligned with client needs, quality targets, and strategic objectives
- Drive change management initiatives across multi-faceted situations, removing organizational friction and redesigning processes for scalability
Required Qualifications:- University degree required; MBA preferred (Science, Engineering, Math, or related fields)
- 10+ years of demonstrated experience leading, managing, and influencing cross-functional teams
- 10+ years of proven experience with change management across multi-faceted situations and cross-functional teams
- Deep understanding of corporate real estate sustainability issues including decarbonization, embodied carbon, circularity, resource preservation, biodiversity, climate risk, health & wellbeing, and social value creation
- Strong track record integrating sustainability into organizational operations at scale
- Proven project and program management experience with excellent communication skills
- P&L management experience with demonstrated financial acumen and business metrics tracking
Preferred Qualifications:- Change management certification is desirable
- Experience working with corporate clients, commercial property, and property managers
- Understanding of landlord and tenant relationships in commercial real estate
- Passionate commitment to working towards a sustainable future
- Exceptional ability to build relationships with clients and their internal teams
- Solution-oriented mindset with innovative thinking and proactive problem-solving capabilities
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in written and numeric work
Location: Seattle or Arlington strongly preferred. This position is remote, U.S.-based.

Estimated compensation for this position:250,000.00 - 300,000.00 USD per year
This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
